Don’t tempt turbogear too much. He’s desperate to improve his 94th global ranking in Fire Strike Ultra.

I used nail polish around the GPU die (applied 3x) and covered the entire area with Kapton tape. I also applied just enough liquid metal on the die and GPU block so it doesn't flow into the other parts. The Nitro+ was vertically installed. I thought there's a US law that bars...

Since using liquid metal on my Nitro+, I noticed that my core temp has barely moved past 50 degrees Celsius under load. It mostly stays at 44-45. My hot spot temp used to go past 70 when running Fire Strike, but now it only maxes out in the mid-60s. My ambient temp is pretty high at 37 degrees...

I did use nail polish and kapton tape around the die. I also applied just enough so it doesn't flow into other parts (especially since the graphics card is sitting vertically).

You're right. LOL. My memory junction temp stays in the low 40s now. About my core temp, I forgot to mention that I shifted from Kryonaut to Conductonaut liquid metal. Our ambient temp here is about 35 degrees C (yes, it's hot and humid).

I've changed to Thermalright pads (12.8w/mk) and I noticed a considerable drop in both core and hot spot temperatures. My new average temp after a Port Royal run is now about 46 degrees C compared with 54 degrees C before. I know it doesn't translate to any real-world benefits but it's good to...

In MPT I took the power limit to 270w but in games its still the same as what it was before, did I do something wrong or does the card just doesn't draw that much power? Did you click "Write SPPT"? You also need to restart for the settings to take effect. Also, your card won't draw more power...

You need to learn how to make your own overlay using the overlayeditor plugin in Riva Tuner. There are many tutorials on the web about this. Here's what I made myself. I don't have Afterburner.

You don't need Afterburner if all you're after is monitoring. Riva Tuner will do.

The red ants ate them. That explains why I saw them marching toward the PC a couple months ago. I thought there was food inside the case so I used some insecticide chalk on the case and around the GPU block. I didn’t know they were having a feast on the circuit board and had munched on the...

I cleaned my custom loop including the GPU block this week because of some deposit issues. I was shocked with what I found upon opening up the GPU block. They ate it all up.

Which part of the GPU were you touching? I mean, it's covered by the block and it even has a backplate. How could it have been damaged by that?

Random PC shutdowns (Event ID 41)

I experienced similar reboots when I was still using a 3700x and a 2080 Super. I narrowed it down to a buggy WIndows app. As soon as I uninstalled qBittorrent, my problem went away.

    Random system shut down

WHEA errors can also cause a sudden reboot especially if the overclocked CPU is very unstable. It doesn't always have to be a BSOD. Also, what are you doing with a laser temp gun? :D Use proper monitoring software like HWINFO.
