    [Case Gallery] StarCruiser Dark Knight

White Stripes. Brilliant modification ! The color pattern reminds me of the ending sequence of Aliens (Alien Queen vs Ripley & Bishop) and gives unprecedented glory to the guts of "Starcruiser", hence the title ;) 10/10. Keep up the good work m8.

You work hard (intellectually & physically) and deserve to be @ the top. No wonder you use WinDoze :P Best wishes for a winning entry.

    Project: Starcruiser

To the best of my knowledge, the panels you got installed, act as acoustic treatment rather than insulation. Audio is gonna leak since it's not a closed box. What the panels do however is prevent/soften the reflections of sounds inside the box. IMHO, such a move pleases the soul, but has...

    1TB HDD issues

Ot OT: Apollo Pro 133A worked fine for me with a coppermine P3 for audio production. I think it was manufactured the same period as KT400A.

Some ludicrous VIA SATA Controllers most of the times don't.

Display dimness after my xfx 8800 gt 256MB alpha dog edition nvflash to Mac version

Good day, Maybe the second point is not a point after all. I'm using the spare molex connector of the DVD Compartment as well. It was a tight fit to drive the power-cable under the logicboard but in the end it payed back. it works as it should and it looks nice :) This is my second...

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

OT: StarCruiser OT: BTW, once again congratulations on your achievement, building the starCruiser(*engageWarp10) case. I'm confident enough to say, if the Borg existed you'd have become a millionaire in a snap. You'd have to betray the Federation, but that's another story.

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

Native Darwin (the OSX kernel) games are quite scarce. Most implementations of contemporary games involve some sort of virtualization/emulation layer. Thus, the performance is crippled to a considerable extend. In principle, stability is also (severely) affected in the worst manner. Even if it...

    BSD: The TPU! way

A quick note. the NT kernel includes many concepts of the original BSD design. This applies to practically every workstation OS built by MS: NT, 2K, XP, VISTA, W7. In my opinion the best implementation of BSD in terms of usability and effectiveness in a production environment is OSX.

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

True ! After so many years trying to make stuff work in various *nix environments (lnx, fbsd, obsd, etc...), a True BSD OS came up to the x86 platform with extremely friendly UI and tremendous work-flow for content creators (audio/video/3d/gfx). It was love @ first sight ! Thank you for...

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

Hi. Glad to be glad ;) I'm not dualbooting yet (no need actually). There's a i7 in da house with XP. The 8800 got stuck inside the MacPro as a replacement to the original 2600 XT (blah). The fan of 2600 one day got mad and never spinned down. I tried 3d party vga coolers like Accelero S1...

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

It wasn't so hard after all. A molex extender and a molex to 6-pin power adapter did the job, along with a screwdriver and some cable management.

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro

Power to 8800GT in a Mac Pro [solved] Hi, I've flashed my 8800GT with the Apple 8800GT Firmware and installed it in my MacPro. I'm looking for a mod to feed this power hog with electricity and your help/ideas would be appreciated. There's a spare molex connector in the optical drive...

Display dimness after my xfx 8800 gt 256MB alpha dog edition nvflash to Mac version

It's no big deal flashing the BIOS back to the PC version. All it takes is saving it to a stick or floppy disk before flashing the Apple one. 8800GTs flashed with Apple 8800GT Firmware do function in PCs. I mean one gets to boot to (free)DOS and then nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 my8800.rom
