You can force output of any formats to HDMI out, you need to set property via Custom Resolution Utility.

The DAC is the same (AKM4377); the opamp was not described in SXFi AMP page and here it is described. My guess: same, as the model number is identical. I think the differentiating factor is the firmware between them both.

Model number between the SXFi AMP and X1 is the same; does not look that they changed the hardware, just added software.

Anyone knows requirements and general checks to do if Dolby DAX API service does not run?

I have just downloaded the latest version of APO Driver; I tried installing Dolby DAX API; I have an issue in service starting. Any ideas to correct that? I have refreshed the Windows installation and I have installed all Visual C++ before starting installation.

Sound Blaster 720 legacy is working fine, its just that I want to change the endpoint that the effects are applied; I am having some difficulties with that procedure on the new endpoint currently. I will be getting another device in a few weeks; I will retry the procedure on the new device.

Tool automated the process that I had done. Did not work. Tried switching from Sound Blaster 720 to Sound Blaster 360, did not work. I think I'll try again after a Windows reinstall.

@AudiophiIe Do you have any idea how to switch from one Creative software to another? When I replace one key file with another product key file, the other product does not get activated; it seems that I stay locked on one product only.

You are correct; it applies to any stream. Depending on how you have set the player, it may either reconvert it or pass it untouched. That depends on whether exclusive mode is enabled and bit-steam is enabled in player. Stereo signal will require upconverting, this feature is often also...

Put your money, I would not put mine. These chips work independently from PC software, they are there for hardware processing when using consoles; third party software DSPs are unusable with consoles. Now the chips might be some external designs bought by Creative, or even Creative contracted...
