Standard resolutions that you use w/ monitor.

Well he said HARDCORE gaming. For casual "I don't give a f**k" gaming at home I'd go with a LCD any day. But as the players get better and better the differences between top players get narrower and small things like lcd response being 1-2 frames behind and 20ms lag add up to 50-100ms and you...

Standard resolutions that you use w/ monitor.

If it's a LCD, try to stick to it's native resolution. Lower resolution look washed out and blocky. I'm playing at 1920x1200 most of the time (I'd rather lower the in-game settings than the resolution). For FPS pro gaming, I'd stick to CRTs@100hz or 2ms LCDs worst case. I got an LCD only...

    home made RAM cooler

I used plastic ones in the past. I used 1 gold riser or 4 around the cpu socket, and for the rest plastic ones. They're an even bigger pain when in comes to taking out the motherboard. You have to press the plastic bit in the center in order to pull the mobo out. And you only have 2 hands, you...

    home made RAM cooler

you should have some left if you assembled your own pc. You need 3 or 4 like the one on the left. Screw  bolt them together, one into the other and you get a long riser . Attach the fan with a normal screw and it's done. edit: here a better pic:

Dell to Stop Selling AMD Based Computers Online

I suppose IBM can take over AMD, but that's just one buyer, if it's even interested. Regarding the rest, I'm not sure you're right. I suppose AMD is giving Intel rights to use 64bit processors AND paying royalties, while Intel is giving AMD nothing... my, my, what a sweet deal.

Dell to Stop Selling AMD Based Computers Online

Actually, no, that can't happen. AMD and Intel signed a cross patent agreement back in 2001, so that AMD could make x86 processors. You can read it here: http://overclockers.com/tips01276/ http://contracts.corporate.findlaw.com/agreements/amd/intel.license.2001.01.01.html At 6.2 it says...
