Definitely need a fanless version of this. Complete offloading of HD content upto and inc 1080p for a small price. The fanless version of this will be going in my MediaPC unless a better integrated solution appears soon.

The supox website leaves a lot to be desired :rolleyes: Vertical text when viewed in IE7 and missing .swf content in firefox. Plus a contact email address that goes to @epox.cn

I dont think thats the case with all codecs (is that correct terminology) as i was very close to buying a board based on that chipset. The general consensus was demanding 1080p content suffered dropped frames. I dont have a 1080p TV yet so i can wait anyway :)

Hopefully an integrated gfx chipset that copes with 1080p in all flavors with ease :toast:

Last time i installed Ubuntu it worked pretty much out the box bar my wireless card. Again the same happened when i installed an old version on Mandrake at uni. Its not that bad, but yeah you need to put a bit of time into it, as with most new things, its new! You cenrtainly dont need to...

I wouldnt say you need to fix things, more like get them working for your system. Its satisfying when you get it setup the way you want though.

Thats what i was asking. Any and all spdif outputs are bit perfect then? I thought this was not the case due to the windows OS and kmixer resampling. So i was wondering about this audio chipset. Will do a bit of hunting around. From what i can tell ALC882D copes with bit-perfect output.

My question was worded poorly. If passing sound via digital out (Spdif bracket) does the chipset for sound matter? Providing its bit perfect it shouldnt? Im not sure if this still applies, but do we still have both DD and DTS to consider? Are both supported. Similarly, if using HDMI to AV box...

Thanks for this folks. Especially the 1080p bit. Need to give the review a proper read seeing as the HD bit looks like it might be an option. Does the sound chip matter if the sound is going via HDMI or digital out?
