i dont even think you would need to upgrade the GPU, 2 290x are pretty darn good in 4k, and if hes got another slot throw in another 290 to the mix and it should be very good for 4k unless some serioussly demanding 4k game comes out which is obviously going to happen.

79 degrees is indeed quiet hot. I have 2 cards crossfired and the only time they hit 80 degrees is when i did the furmark test, everything else never gets THAT hot. Also dont mess with the heatsink. warranty the card. Good luck man

You wont be dissapointed. Vapor-X and very very quiet, reliable cards and the r290 version looks amazzzzzing. I have the tri-x 290 and its very quiet and amazing card. I might considering selling it though because i may purchase the nvidia shield. You wont be dissapointed tho!
