    Help confirming defective pixel

Hello! 4 pixels or so, kicked the bucket overnight on the screen (model:AUO82ED) of my laptop (specs in my profile), I tried running the Jscreenfix but there was no improvement after 40 minutes. for context, this laptop is with me since October 2019 and I treat it with a lot of care, so this...

    Need help cooling my laptop

IMHO, If it's already giving you a headache, and you have the chance to return it, do it. It's not worth to fix a brand new laptop or any product.

The Official Thermal Interface Material thread

Thermalright TFX is awesome :D. I used it on my Omen 2019 (i7-9750h, rtx 2070 max-q), first time/try repasting an expensive laptop after years of having a low end pc. lowered my idle temps (speedshift 0, so all cores working at max) by 5°C and max temps by 10°-15°C. a little difficult to apply...

Repasted laptop GPU 1660 TI ends in higher temps than before

HP Omen 15 2019 - i7-9750h - rtx 2070 minimum-q 90w I repasted because while playing cyberbug 2020, I got random hibernations (ACPI Thermal zone) because the CPU reached TJmax 100°C with an average of 90-97°C. Consider that while playing there's a combined load with the GPU at 97% usage at 71°C...

Repasted laptop GPU 1660 TI ends in higher temps than before

https://www.amazon.com/viscous-thermal-paste-replacement-Aspire/dp/B00UTX7K2E I believe this is the stuff they put instead of pads.

Repasted laptop GPU 1660 TI ends in higher temps than before

I'm late to the party, but I just want to say that Thermalright TFX is awesome, difficult to apply at room temperature (heat it up with a hairdryer) but with really good results. A thick paste is your best friend.

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

As I was "happily" playing Cyberbug 2077, my laptop began to hibernate randomly during combat, or when approaching a new highly populated area. I checked the event manager and found this timestamped every time that happened: Meanwhile TS wasn't reporting any kind of thermal or power...

I'm considering buying a new laptop. Seeing the underclocking / undervolting locking problem, what should I focus ?

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

did that full shutdown and, it was as you said, it behaves as if I was using XTU, core and cache voltages are linked. It seems for now, because there's a "cpu" tab, and another one to reset the undervolt to the right, so maybe they will add a separate cache tab. tried a -0.125 mv undervolt...

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

just rebooted, didn't launch TS, launched HWiNFO, opened the omen app, switched between power profiles in the omen app just to see any changes, and it seems that .. is it still reading my settings from TS? what? Either way, this is good news as you say, that a big manufacturer finally takes...

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

well this was unexpected from HP, nice. As far as I can see (just updated), there's only the option to tweak the CPU core voltage and it's reading my settings from TS. nice.

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

The thermal unit in the Omen 2019 in both 15 inch and 17 is almost the same in both units and it does a really good job dissipating the heat even in the models that use 115w gpu (or even higher wattage) and an intel I9. but the application of TIM from the factory is something like flipping a...

(I7-9750H) Plundervolt question and settings in Throttlestop

allright I hope I don't come out as rude but look here, there are a couple of videos where your laptop is disassembled up to removing the thermal unit https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hpsupport+omen+17+cb0000 And regarding the amount of work on your model I can't say for sure, I've...
