    XFX 1GB 695X-ZDFC Ver A.0 a few questions

bios are read only theen - there is the way of connecting pin 3 with pin 8 I think to make it writable - http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2404743#post2404743

    6950 GPU voltage tweak

did you enable it in the settings?

    Anitlles or Cayman (Ati)

there is nothing to disable - Antiles would require 2 gpu cores and I doubt they would put expensive dual gpu card on high mid range card, really. Maybe they did something with the bios to spoof bios flashing, but I bet that this is not antiles powering up this card.

    HD 6970 display issue

also - this just hit me. I did hear of some people having issues at the low gpu clock settings - aka, window operations (your 250-350Mhz clocks - video usually runs at about 500-700 and all games will get max clocks) - the issues with low clocks were connected to a low voltage on low gpu clocks...

    6950 Voltage Problems

Open AB - go to settings and enable voltage tweaks - this will enable voltage controll. but once again - 1.2v is ok. As far as idle temps - higher performance = higer temps. 50c idle is normal for oc'd card. adjust your fan profile and just leave it. 6950 is max temp rated at over 110c (not...

    HD 6970 display issue

wait the minute - Did you say that it is all ok when you play games? - so the only problem you are having is with the desktop display and 2d apps? - if thats so then make sure you clean uninstall drivers (use nuke or something) and reinstall 11.8 works good for me) - also make sure that your...

    6950 Voltage Problems

The statement above is total bs - if ccc overclocking is disabled then I guarantee you that HE DID update clocks, fan profile, memory clocks and voltage register offset. and btw - 1.2v isreally fine - people go as much as 1.22v and even 1.25v - I have my card set at 1.2v and 960/1440 - just...

    6950 Voltage Problems

voltage and clocks as well as fan profile have been updated in bios or you have ccc controlling them (from the looks of it I tend to think that it is ccc - are you sure ccc overclocking is not on?). Make sure when you go to ccc the overclocking option is unchecked - MSIAfterburner has issues...

    HD 6970 display issue

Return the card. Most likely power module is hosed or even gpu (what explains why you only seeing the problem when the card does 3 d operations (rmdac works fine)

    6950 Voltage Problems

first - make sure to enable unoficial overclocking in msiAfterburner.cfg (you have to change exact lines to MSIAfterburner.cfg - just locate and replace. UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not...

    HD 6970 display issue

are you using HDMI cable - if so try changing it. If it isn't a cable I would say that this can be due to: 1. bad memory, 2. bad power module on the card (weak capacitors) 3. failing gpu. Did you ever overcock this card? What are your temps. Due to fact that video plays ok I would tend to think...

Direct cuII 6950 idling quite hot?

Beaverrr - I would look into to things. 1. Make sure you have adequate case venting. My case, for instance, has bottom mounted psu and I have nice 120mm fan blowing right into my video card (air from the psu is not hot at all). Try to install door case fan (towards bottom of the door - drill...

Direct cuII 6950 idling quite hot?

look - why do you worry about idle temps? This cards can go 90+ under load (not that I would like that) - idle temp is relevant to your room temp, as RejZor said. Unles you have room temp below 20c or a liquid nitrogen cooling (lol), you will not get card to 20c idle - not that idle temp of 50c...

Sapphire Vapor-X 5870 OC flash nightmare!

in MSIAfterburner.cfg the line which says something like 'UnoficialOverclocking = 1' change it to 2, so the power play willl be disabled and gpu will not be throttled back.
