GTA 4 is taxing your 5870 that much? i didn't think that game was that demanding. do you have a Quad core? if you don't then that's probably your problem. a 5870 should be able to run just about everything out there on the highest settings.

it's all about what resolution you play at. 24" screen or smaller the 2gb model won't do anything.

i wonder how my 5870 stock will OC....

performance doesn't change based on fan speed. if the fan isn't fast enough you'll see artifacts...or even lockup. but performance will stay the same.

6 pages of comments and it boils down to this....if you have a game that loads your cpu to 80% or more on both cores and that is known to require a quad core then get a quad core...else you'll be fine. yes the video card will be bottlenecked by the cpu in some situations...more as time pass by...
