It looks like you can only overcock one core and its memory on the 4870x2. It doesn't seem to like applying changes to the other core.

MicroDirect have 3 (they had four untill this afternoon! :D) They are selling the Sapphire model for £349 which is a decent price compared to others. You will have to search for 4870 X2, it hasn't been intergrated into the online shop properly yet.

Nice Review, nice memory. Doesn't look like the BP PCB though. My only criticism is that you should have tried to keep the CPU speed constant when you were ramping up the bus speed, that alone has skewed the performance testing somewhat.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm quite happy with my X850XT especially as it's the worlds #2 X850XT for a 3Dmark 01 score ;). It clocks to 702/660 clean on water, if the bios doesn't improve performance then I cannot see the point.

Does this bios actually offer any performance increase?

I don't want to sound negative, but does the pencil mod actually work with the 850? I don't want to use a soldering iron again if I can help it, after what I did to my x800. Reading this thread does not seem to give convincing results.
