Did I just screw up with the 7900XTX - multi monitor supported?!

If you have a blu-ray disk in the drive it may be triggering hdcp.

F.E.A.R. 2: best of the series?

The first one before the patch, lol. I used to revel in giving someone a mohawk with penetrator slugs;the patch removed that ability.:(

AMD won’t be using the RTX 4090’s melting power connector

They need to go to pins that can handle more current. Those pins are only rated to 7A.

Vintage Pioneer SA 720 amp question - please be kind, im old lol

Deoxit will remove oxides, but the switching them a million times part is still necessary. Usually, this noise from anything other than controls will be combined with alarming speaker cone movements. Bad capacitors can certainly cause this. So; how's it work since cleaning all the controls?

Vintage Pioneer SA 720 amp question - please be kind, im old lol

Yup; dw was developed to get water out of electronics, back when they were using tubes. It was very popular with the military. It's even in a time tunnel episode, iirc.

De-oxit and deoxit gold. Those do not damage pots, like everything mentioned above.

PC hardware emergency! (unexpected!) (also unprecedented!)

All of those pads will leak silicone oil when they break down, usually from heat. It is non-conductive, but we did have problems with it picking up flux off the boards, which absorbed humidity and became a little conductive; in a circuit with 5M ohm resistors, it was enough to short a 500V power...

Intel Not Happy About BCLK Overclocking of 12th Gen CPUs, Warns of Damage

This is exactly the reason for their press release.

how do mobile devices such as laptops, phones and etc, ground themselves?

The only ground is the power cord, if attached. Otherwise, system voltages are related to the negative batt terminal

    Can we submerse radiators?

I once set up a 1000A power supply for electropolishing, and it was a lm317 with a shitload of pass transistors on a rack frame with a garden hose hookup. The water going in from the city was ~50F, and would boil the output, but even the last set of transistors never went over 100C.

Amazon's New World is bricking RTX 3090 graphics cards

I wpuld bet they're maxing the power supply; if you saturate the inductors, they act like a piece of wire. You can even go into 'shoot thru, where the 12V shows up on the output. :) That's usually when you hear the pop.

    Cat 5 cable upgrades?

If you're running analog signals with ethernet adapters, cat6 might help if it's shielded. Digital can't really get any better than "It works! I did find out the signal latency between channels was worse with cat 6, due to he variably spaced twists.

    Viability of RAID, long term

I have 2 10TB arrays I use for video storage; I've lost drives over the years, but was able to swap and rebuild easily. I have 3x 45 drive raid 5 scsi drives I use for video editing on my dual processor server I got for $139 . :) If you have things you dont want to lose to a drive failure, I'd...

Copper anti seize grease as thermal paste?

Avoid the nickel-based compounds; nickel has really bad thermal conductivity. It's great on a heatsink as plating, but you want copper for thermal transfer, or silver, if you have deep pockets. :)

    Building a modern system.

Well, guys and gals, I built this beast. :) I ended up with the 24core threadripper, and an asrock mobo. It's incredible. The asus AIO 360 keeps it cool even in handbrake
