More than 2g of ram in 32bit winXP is just a waste and if you went to single channel to do it, it would hinder your system, but if you plan on getting Vista anytime soon it would help a lot and 4g in vista at this point is the way to go if you can afford it.
If someone paid $450 for that card now they'd be a fool, you could get a 8800gts for less. Newegg has the 8800gts for this

That is the first benchmark I've seen that had Vista close on most stuff and winning a few benches too. I have to say I'm very skeptical of this as I've seen many more saying much differently. On newer hardware old games don't matter either way, but that fact that Vista is such a memory hog will...
I'd keep the 7900GTX and I own a X1900XT 256mb, so no bias from me. Both cards have their strong points, but the extra 256 of ram would be the difference maker for me. Just my .02
That's not true at all, I'd like to see even 1 benchmark test that said Vista is better with any game. It my be better one day, but that day is not today.
That's a good score, so it's safe to say it's not your system it's the game. I'm not sure how many hard drives you have, but you can get better performance if you have WinXP on one drive and all your games installed on another drive. just a thought.....
Could you post your 3DMark06/05 score?. I played WoW pretty well with a old XP2800-m and a Radeon 9700, so I'm sure it's just the game giving you server lag in populated areas...that's what it sounds like anyway. You might want to turn down your view distance in WoW as it has a huge impact on...
I understand as I also do this for my livelihood :) . A lot of people around here act like they do this everyday and know everything, some know a lot and most have no clue :) .
I have to agree about the pour choice of CPU and PSU, but WoW should still be running very well with that system. WoW isn't a very demanding game for most modern PC's with an ok Video Card and you have that. Try benchmarking your system with 3Dmark and compare it to other results from similar...
I can tell you for sure that card is being bottlenecked by the A64 3500. I'm bottlenecked with my X1900XT with my 3500, but like you said if you're getting 100+ fps now there is no need to replace it yet. More ram is needed at this point and I think that would clear up your issues.
