So intel just halved the secondary market value for anyone offloading their old HEDT chips for a new one. That just sucks if you have one of those chips, your trade value just vanished. Ouch!

I don't think they stopped innovating at all, I think they twiddled their thumbs for so long without competition that now when they need to innovate, they have forgotten how too. I do think the fire has been lit now beneath some arses and things are starting to move again. The next few years...

Exactly what I was thinking. A massive power consumption increase for a modest performance increase, this isn’t technological innovation, it’s going backwards. I feel that during all those uncontested years while AMD was hibernating Intel lost the ability to innovate. Pretty sure they’re awake now.

But would you want it to? With that much AI processing power it’d be practically unbeatable.
