    Microsoft Windows 8 Gaming Performance

Nice job Wizard, yet one big question remains unanswered: Is this the DirectX10 fiasco all over again? Reminder: When Vista came out, Microsoft forced everyone who wanted DirectX10 to upgrade to Vista, because they wouldn't want it to be backwards compatible as an incentive to push Vista sales...

HD 7970: Bulldozer vs. Sandy Bridge vs. Nehalem

In an equation as performance/€ there are 2 cogs you can tweak, not just 1. One way is obvious: double the performance. But there is also another way: Halve the price! This is what happened with the iteration from HD5850 --> HD6850/HD6870. The HD6870 was only slightly faster than the HD5850 but...

    Another Build Idea (AMD)

Welcome to the year 2010! A single game (i.e. GTA4) may clock in well over 20GB.

HD 7970: Bulldozer vs. Sandy Bridge vs. Nehalem

Hey bear! Computerbase had just the test you need: http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/grafikkarten/2011/test-amd-radeon-hd-7970/18/#abschnitt_eyefinity

HD 7970: Bulldozer vs. Sandy Bridge vs. Nehalem

The conclusion I take away from this well-done review is: CPU doesn't matter once you go to 1920x1200 (which should be the MINIMUM resolution for ANYONE who buys a HD7970... I mean, come on? However, once you go up there, the CPU becomes negligible. I've read some previews which show that...

    HD6870 - underclock flash possible?

So far at least half a dozen people have cared enough to download the zips and take a look. Still, I really'd appreciate some form of feedback before I flash my GPU into nirvana...

    HD6870 - underclock flash possible?

HD6870 - underclocking possible? Hello, RBE Community! I'd very much like to underclock my Sapphire HD6870 so it draws less power under video playing conditions, but after reading in this forum, I have severe doubts that flashing will actually work. Is it true that flashing Barts (i.e...

    RBE bug reports

Hello. With the latest version of the Catalyst Driver (8.11) the RBE-flashed MSI HD4850 does not clock down in 2D mode anymore. It runs at max clock rates all the time.

    Recommended Voltage for HD4850 (2D-mode)

0.93V works; no problems attached. BIOS modified with RBE and flashed with winflash. The only problem I encountered lateley was playing a x264-coded video. I saw big blocks in the picture. But this could as well be because of my low-power CPU (X²-3800)

    Recommended Voltage for HD4850 (2D-mode)

I'm just not the type for hardmods. I like to have my graphics card working out of the box. If I can improve it by flashing better fan settings + lower 2D frequencies, great, but I won't remove that fan. Edit: Can this thread be moved to graphics cards? Sry, first post here... wrong category...

    Recommended Voltage for HD4850 (2D-mode)

Thanks! But I don't want to mess with my guarantee. Otherwise I'd have bought the Powercolor PCS, but that's too late now - it wasn't yet on the market when I bought my MSI 4850. Soo... anyone with experience on flashing the standard HD4850 and undervolting it? Should I do it or leave it be?

    Recommended Voltage for HD4850 (2D-mode)

Hello guys. I've written a German tutorial on how to fix the nasty overheating problem on standard HD4850 cards: http://www.winfuture-forum.de/index.php?showtopic=147726 It includes: making the fan spin more (30% for less heat), lower 2D GPU frequencies (160/500) and undervolting (2D = 0.930V)...
