Get Your Modded P5Q Pro BIOS Here!

The modded BIOS adds adds more Processor Microcode updates, as well as a new RAM Table from the Premium board (which ASUS obviously spent more time working on as it has much finer detailing and timings for even more varying types of memory). In a nutshell, it provides much more enhanced...

Get Your Modded P5Q Pro BIOS Here!

Hi Ket (and others), I am in need of some serious help on my P5Q Pro! OK, here's my story, I setup my system about a week ago: Antec P160W incl. 1xFront / 1xBack (Antec Tri-Cool Blue @ 79 CFM) OCZ ModStream Pro 700W ----- ASUS P5Q Pro Intel Q6600 G0 SLACR TRUE incl. 1xPush / 1xPull...

    AS5 on VPU Question ?

I'm a razor blade guy myself. Thin even coat, done. Plus that way I know I applied enough, it's covering the entire surface of the IHS/Core, and I don't have any overflow! I've been doing it that way for 10 years now, never scratched a thing, just take your time. Learned that you almost *have*...

Overclocking my Q6600 currently at 3.2GHz with a ASUS Rampage Formula X48.

Oh, geez, multiple replies already, LMAO! Sry guys, I'll stay out of it ;)!

Overclocking my Q6600 currently at 3.2GHz with a ASUS Rampage Formula X48.

You may have to play with the volts on the Northbridge & Southbridge. Check your defaults, and add 0.1v to each of them for starters. CPU PLL Voltage : +0.1 North Bridge Voltage : +0.1 FSB Termination Voltage : +0.1 South Bridge Voltage : +0.1 Loadline Calibration : Enabled The other thing is...

    What about this WC Kit?

I've heard good things about petrastechshop.com. Nice kits, well compiled quality parts, good pricing, and good support.

    PC Refuses to overclock :(

Hmm, here it mentions the classic CTRL-F1, and they should be present in the 'hidden menu'. I had to do this on my other boards as well. Nasty habit of picking up memory at 3-3-3-8 instead of 2-3-2-5 :(! http://www.fastsilicon.com/motherboard-reviews/gigabyte-ga-965p-s3-review-7.html

    PC Refuses to overclock :(

Don't worry about the graphics booster, its no biggie ... I didn't want it to play with the volts and pci-express clocks too much ... Not with the overclock going on, perhaps others have more to say on this subject, but I always understood that as 'unstable'. After reading that you have been...

    PC Refuses to overclock :(

Change the: Robust Graphics Booster to Disabled PCI Express Frequency to 100MHz System Memory Multiplier to (whatever equals anything between DDR800 and DDR900) What is in: High Speed DRAM DLL Settings? Is that section for volts, settings, or both? You could probably bump your volts to the...

    Old School Overclockin'

I don't know if a Skt462 is going to get to a 250 MHz FSB! Pretty much all of the Bartons ran a 166 MHz, most of them could push 200 MHz on a good cooler, but much more than that was finnicky. I would run the Ballistix over the Mushkin. Have not had good experiences with DDR Mushkin ram as of...

ASUS EAH3650 256MB overclocking, need help

Overclocking is chip-per-chip. Perhaps you just got a 'dud' it is hard to say. I don't think you could RMA the board or exchange it based on the fact that it doesn't overclock as well as you want it to. The only thing you might be able to do is change the cooler on it..

    7c difference between cores?

I haven't lapped anything, of course, but I understand that the IHS is much thicker than you'd think. I don't want to 'scratch' the surface or rub off the nice lettering though ;)! I generally apply my thermal paste using a razor blade, helps to apply an even amount, so that a small unified...

ASUS EAH3650 256MB overclocking, need help

Oh, does the Glacier cool the RAM as well? Did you apply AS Ceramique to the RAM, or are they thermal pads? If they aren't cooled, you may want to think about RAM Sinks. Most of my OCing problems were RAM related.
