about the driver thing, do u guys think the preformance lag fix is just adriver update away?

im contemplating geting an x2900 xt in cross fire setup. i was just wondering if cross fire is worth it. the specs on the card is awsome im pretty sure a driver update will fix the preformance lag compared to the nvidia 8800 cards. and i also want to know the core 2 cross fire mobos, can u guys...
