no sound with Creative Soundblaster PCI

Do you use the correct drivers? Creative has many of them and sometimes it's not easy to find to right ones. Check back the Creative-Code (ct-number) on your card and then look again on their site.

    wifi issues

Either you got a defect device or it should be a software issue. Beginning at Bios, over to device drivers, end in updating all other device drivers too. That would not be the first device that doesn't "like" an other specific device. This bluescreen is (in my opinion) a kind of a...

    WorkLog: Actively Cooled TVCard!

And louder! But apart from that, how have you mounted the fan? I see no drill holes round the TV-GPU (I don't have a better name for the chip :-) ). So I assume you glue it on the chip. Let's hope it drops never when you bounce at you case.

    Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

@dolf: OK, so this thread serves as mini-mini-mini-guide for this prehistoric issue with the dusty X8x0-based cards :-) @lemonadesoda: Material science engineer only some months, then back to my real affinity, embedded systems, programming algorithms for microcontrollers and things like that...

    Bad capacitators on mobo..

Hint: for self-replacing you have to have: 1) Solder iron which gets really hot, no 25W-Type, better a soldering station. 2) The special-Caps, only LowESR-Types, not the standard ones! But the question is, is it worth to buy the mostly hard to get caps and have the effort to solder it, or...

    Bad capacitators on mobo..

Bad Caps were used from sometime end 90s to 2002/2003. If you use the "electrical thing" (PC-equipment, TV, VCR, CarRadio, ...) not very often it lasts for some years without problems. Example: two mobos with bad caps, a expensive soyo and a cheap ecs, both bought in 2002. The soyo WAS my...

Need Help: Computer Shuts off a few secs after power on!

Little chance is a kind of short-circuit. Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

@lemonadesoda: Thank you too, but in another direction. Your very direct words are good to know, because usually a non-native english speaker practically NEVER gets this kind of feedback and so the people outside GB+USA have no chance to learn understandable english. But to say it clear, that...

    Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

    Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

Thank you very much, now it's more clear than before but allow me the ask one more time. Let me "connect" all your infos concerning the given Hex-Codes, please correct the wrong thoughts: Config_Die_Fuses 0xFFFF3FFF GB_Pipe_Select 0x31344" --> This is R430/480 but with "unknown" working...

    Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

OK, I think there are some rules at least for parts of the fuse's hex-numbers. For example in the big " X800 fuses data for unlocking"-Thread somebody posts the exactly same numbers like my card, and you, dolf, mean its not possible to get more pipes: (The Core is definitly R480, Rams...

    Bad 150GB Raptor Drive?

If the hdd is really the source of the problem, take the chance it gives you and rescue *now* the most important data for example to a external hdd. It's possible that the hdd dies during the run of the hdd-test-tool !!!

    hard drive activity light

It exists a solution where you can use one of your keyboard leds as hdd-led. For example the SCROLL ("Rollen" in German) which is really useful for nothing in windows/linux. Dont know the exact link but I know that it works because I've experimented with it some time ago. It is a little process...

    Want to learn about CONFIG_xyz_FUSES

Hello Forum! Because I don't want to bother you with dumb questions, I first want to learn about some details in GraficCardBIOS & -Config. For example, like in Threads like this (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=18442) a member asks for "is my card 16 pipe hackable?", he posts...
