    Until I swapped from air to water cooling the CPU, I didn't really believe the difference in noise, and I have two extra fans and the pump noise to compare to the air cooled.

    Yeah I hear you there, sure most of us are like that. My own modest setup took 9 - 10 months to complete because I was Having to get it virtually piece by piece.

    I'm hoping soon, I can grab myself some water cooling loop hardware for my 3900X.. I have the parts I'm looking at and all I need to do next is have the cash to buy them.. Man when did EK kit become so expensive?? I think it's currently £200 for a pump and res combo, along with £120 for a rad...

    yes That's what I would prefer, hand't thought of trying that way must admit, food for thought for when I upgrade the MB a bit down the line. Thanks, that is Def worth looking into.

    The trouble with that is that there is Very little 'wriggle-room' with this particular motherboard, you can see in this picture that the bolts are right on the extreme of the mounting slots on the block. I have no idea if this is true with other MBs, or if it is only true for x470 or Just my...

    For me it fitted the Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 wifi perfectly. My problem was that I found it fiddly as hell to get it all together (i have disabilities, so I am at a disadvantage for anything awkward to fit). I did a dry run and it fitted just fine with some titanium bolts that I found on eBay...

    yeah i know, just didnt want to lose 3 USB's. if I can figure out a way to sort the front I/O I'll likely get some header to USB connectors and run them out of the back of the MB or something. I'm not happy with them but as my mobility etc is taking a hit right now I've not got round to doing...

    oh those are my work around for the time being. My case is a Thermaltake view 71 and on the front I/O it has 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x USB 3.0. I have 2 USB 3 headers on the MB and didnt want to lose the extra 2 USB 3 ports and the USB 3.1, so just bought some quick pcie slot type and fitted them in...
