    Silverstone Precision PS15

I recently completed a new gaming PC build and chose this case due to the size, side window and the front having good airflow. And of course the price. I removed the HDD cage since i don't use 3.5inch drives. Now i can install any PSU i want, i used the EVGA 650 G+ fully modular. I have a...

Is it worth upgrading from GTX 1070 to GTX 1080 for 1080p or 1440p should i wait for new GPU

13 months ago i got my GTX 1070 for $714 AUD. I recently sold it for $700. Then i got a GTX 1080 for $716. So only $16 out of pocket to upgrade from 1070 to 1080, sounds good to me. Reason why i did it was because i got an Acer Predator monitor and wanted to be able to push higher frame rates.

    Pagefile confusion. Windows 10.

Seems the discussion about Pagefile has poeple on different sides of the fence, i say do as you wish, everyone knows how their computer operates and what they do on it, if a certain thing works for you then enjoy.

    Pagefile confusion. Windows 10.

When i have it system managed it puts it at 1GB, so not a huge waste of space, and it can increase as it needs to, but i do not max out my Committed memory so the pagefile size does not increase beyond 1GB. So looks like leaving it system managed is the best bet. I just loaded up multiple games...

    Pagefile confusion. Windows 10.

So it turns out when MSI Afterburner is reporting "pagefile" usage, its actually reporting the Committed value. Whoever designed that in Afterburner is to thank for my confusion. Committed memory is the amount of virtual memory reserved for a process and it appears Windows 10 is more greedy...

    Pagefile confusion. Windows 10.

I played Doom for 5 minutes. Top picture is with Pagefile set to use initial 4GB and maximum 8GB. Bottom pic is with Pagefile off. Results are basically the same.

    Pagefile confusion. Windows 10.

My pagefile was system managed, it was set to 1GB. Using MSI Afterburner to monitor pagefile it reports usages around 10GB in some games. Is that an accurate reading? So pagefile is set to 1GB but it uses 10GB? How is that possible. When it says using 10GB, where is that 10GB being used? My...

The show off your tech related purchase thread

Got an Acer Predator XB271HU 27in G-Sync IPS 144Hz Gaming Monitor today, very nice. I had 120hz in the past but didn't really care for it. Now i got a GTX 1070 i can pump out the required FPS. Too bad Assassins Creed Origins loves dipping under 60 all the time, so not enjoying such fluidity as...

System stable with B150, but not with Z170 or Z270....

So my ram is probably faulty when ran above 2133mhz? Thats my issue? I'm guessing so. I will make sure to run 2 sticks in the future.

System stable with B150, but not with Z170 or Z270....

Tried resetting bios and changing ram stick location, yes. Reason why i have 1 stick was because i got a 32GB kit on sale, i kept one 16GB stick and my friend used the other.

System stable with B150, but not with Z170 or Z270....

With the Z270 it wouldn't even reach the bios.

System stable with B150, but not with Z170 or Z270....

Yeah i tried with no ram at all. And with the stick in each slot. Didn't help. Do motherboards play up if you only use 1 stick?

System stable with B150, but not with Z170 or Z270....

You can see my system specs in my profile. My computer works issue free. But i recently was using an Asus Z170 Maximus VIII Hero motherboard, sometimes the system had trouble booting, especially if i unplugged the power cord, getting the system to boot again was a pain. Sometimes after a couple...

    Your PC ATM

Dosn't look as good HAHA. I would like a Motherboard that has a black PCB and Heatsinks, but don't want to drop the cash on it, also a new CPU and RAM, maybe an M.2 SSD, one day but not now.
