    Monitor technology discussion

I believe that PLS will probably become quite popular. The brightness is superior and much more importantly these days it has lower power consumption and is cheaper to produce while having the same viewing angle advantages of IPS Mac :)

Wow, talk about hostile really "Thanks ddd for beating me to the punch " :shadedshu When I have friends around or want to lounge I don't do it around my Monitor I switch to the big screen TV The discussion is about Monitors,. I don't know anyone who games/watches movies or does anything that...

    Monitor technology discussion

Personally I don't get what the hang up is with viewing angles ? Most people sit bang on square and about 2.5-3ft from the screen. Refresh rate also isn't a concern even 8ms is technically enough although I would recommend 5ms as a minimum personally. Mac :)

Choosing a CPU based on GPU's and Resolution

Where is the financial balance point though ? Sure you don't need too much CPU grunt at high resolutions like 1440p. Thing is how much does a 1440p screen cost ? I have no idea but would guess at least £500 + ? You can get a decent 1080 X 1920 + a 3570K and a 7950/660 Ti for just the cost of the...

    Graphics vram speeds

Its not the bus speed that those numbers refer to its the width of the bus, or to put it another way how much data it can shift in one go. Most cards are well optimized to balance out the bus width with a memory speed and thus bandwidth that wont hobble the GPU to less performance than it is...

difference between r7970 PE & lightning

Not a lot really. The Core speed is lower 925 Vs 1070 so not night and day, obviously that means the memory throughput is down a little as well. The cooler is the same, I believe that power circuitry and overclocking potential are not as good with a PE but I am prepared to be corrected (as...

    Thoughts on EVGA,HIS GPU'S

Why would you even consider buying a card without a warranty over one that does ? H.I.S are a good make of card as are EVGA but I certainly wouldn't consider buying even a top line specially cooled and overclocked version over a cheaper stock version if the stock card had a warranty and the...
