The cost difference is quite a premium for performance differences that are pretty much within the margin of error in most cases, and definitely not noticeable in everyday use.

Why are websites only testing with the most demanding graphics settings? Not all of us can afford to upgrade video cards every year, and would like to see tests at Medium and High settings.

You obviously misunderstood my point. Everyone is testing this game at Ultra settings only, and the only cards that can reach a solid 60 FPS at ultra settings are expensive cards. I want to see the game tested at 1080p with high, medium, and low settings. I'm sure I'm not the only person out...

I've owned all brands - I'm not a fanboy - but AMD is usually the better bargain. I will look into the 2070 though. Sounds interesting. For $200, I think I'd go with the 3600. I'll probably save up, and go 3700x, though.

The 3600 has about the same multicore performance as the overclocked 1700, but it does it on six cores instead of eight. On fewer cores, it blows away the 1700, though. I'm thinking about getting the 3700x at some point. I'm running a Freesync monitor, so would probably stick with AMD. Not...

I understand. From the reviews I've read, I was thinking the same thing. UHD is indeed what most people call 4k, but 4k is 4096, and UHD is 3840, but that's splitting hairs, of course.

16 GB (2x8 GB) Corsair Samsung B-Die at 2,933 MHz. The RAM is 3,600 MHz, but the board/CPU won't do it.

Samsung UHD (2160p) at 60Hz with Freesync... But, the 5700 HD won't run all games at UHD. Many would have to be run at 1440p.

Opinions please... I can't afford to upgrade everything at once, so... Do you think an AMD 1700 running at 3.7 GHz on all cores would keep up with a 5700 XT video card? It's an eight core processor of course, but I'm concerned about the first generation Ryzen's less than stellar single core...
