ASUS Radeon R9 Fury STRIX 4 GB

Good power circuit = more consistent voltage. Yes, it could lead to better power consumption, but not much. But, you didn't read my post, right? "The higher power limit allows the card stay in boost clock in more circumstances, hence higher power consumption" Sapphire have higher stock voltage...

    Fiji Core overclocking

Bad on my side it seems. Back to the topic This would clear the speculation of 75C wall of HBM and interposer

    Fiji Core overclocking

@dorsetknob Mate, it's clear that I didn't mention the sacred word or say anything about a comparison. Use your flamebait elsewhere, please. Well, so you are still defending your point that most of the heat in CPU come from wire? Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. You should apply for a Nobel prize in...

    Fiji Core overclocking

I didn't forget them. The heat produced by them is much less than by the logic gates so I didn't mention it. And yes, logic gates produce heat when they switch between on and off, their only operation though. I would recommend you to start doing some research about what happens inside a die, mate.

ASUS Radeon R9 Fury STRIX 4 GB

It's clear that you don't know about Sapphire limit of 300w. The higher power limit allows the card stay in boost clock in more circumstances, hence higher power consumption. Not to mention the difference in stock volt btw

    Fiji Core overclocking

Do you know why a CPU at load produces more heat? Because of more logic gates being utilized, my friend. Yes, it's all about resistance. But the resistance of silicon is a special one that created the whole Electronics Industry. And do you know why the current is large? Because it is the sum of...

    Fiji Core overclocking

Well, it's not true with silicon. The resistance of a transistor in conduct mode is close to zero. Electronics 101. Silicon chips produce heat because of logic gates. An interposer with no logic gate will produce close to no heat.

    Fiji Core overclocking

With the release of Fury non X, it's clear that interposer and HBM can tolerate more than 70C And why the hell an interposer with no logic gate can have leakage???

ASUS Radeon R9 Fury STRIX 4 GB

With amazing 10+2 phase, Asus set power limit at mere 216W for Fury Strixx. A custom bios is needed to release this beast.

AMD Halts Optimizations for Mantle API

^ The biggest advantage of AMD over nVidia in Dx12 and Vulkan is that GCN are all resource binding tier 3. nVidia's best GPU only have tier 2. Barring some other aspect, with this advantage, a AMD GPU will mostly have better performance than a nVidia GPU with the same shader/CUDA count. Of coz...

AMD Releases Catalyst 15.7 WHQL Software

^ API drawcall test is available in 3Dmark. If you can't find a FuryX, grasp a GCN card and test this driver yourself. Do it before calling people names.

AMD Halts Optimizations for Mantle API

Kudos for your "ON topic" comment. You even quoted my note, well done. I think this will answer your question

AMD Releases Catalyst 15.7 WHQL Software

Amazing draw call boost in Dx11 with this driver. FuryX sees around 10% fps gain in 1440p. It would be no surprise if next week Fury air rocks in benches.

AMD Halts Optimizations for Mantle API

Yes, it's a good move for AMD. Now they have both Dx12 and Vulkan on their side. The red camp looks quite strong for the next era. By the way the news is old. Note: I'm expecting for ignorant dudes who translate this news into "AMD did bad as always, go die" to populate this thread. Just...
