It's possible but I hope not. I mean, they're both XFX branded (mobo is XFX geforce 8300 and GPU is xfx 295 gtx) so they should work together... Ugh it's making my head hurt =P

I already have, as I said above. I have tried a Geforce 8800, and the machine works fine - hence the weirdness! And I have tried both DVI connectors on the card, neither with any joy.

Its the only one we have access to with PCIe power slots - let me make this clear though: The power supply can DEFINITELY power this card. This is because, when the card was tried in a different setup, the card worked FINE and was powered by the same power supply. I don't see how it could not...

Hey, I'm helping a friend build his new setup - it's having some really weird issues. The motherboard is a XFX Geforce 8300, model number MIA-78U-8309, and we're trying to use it with the graphics card. When the card is in the machine, it entirely fails to boot/display anything on screen...

I can't really install any drivers, since I cant get into it :D. I already got an account over at DFI(now DIY)-Street, and I've read all the tips for this motherboard - most people who don't run crossfire seem to have no problems with it.

I ordered a DFI RDX200CF-DR motherboard - its a good overclocker AND good motherboard if I don't use crossfire (which I won't). Just one last question - since I will have to be repairing/reinstalling XP, will my system be able to run Vista well? Thanks again.

It looks like a partial failure is the cause as well, as my graphics card worked fine in a different PC. Now I just need to get a new motherboard. Thanks to everyone who helped.
