You are exactly incorrect. The 960m performs at a nearly unoticeably smaller rate than a 750ti. You are missing a key thing here. The 960m is NOT the 960. The 960 is nearly double the speed of the 960m.

The solution to the Graphics card issue is to tie the graphics card into some steam purchase. I'd gladly pay 500+300 for a gfx card and steam wallet. That'd stop crytpo miners from purchasing the cards as you can't move the cash in steam wallet very easily.

The thing is, there are other 'console ports' that don't follow this pattern. Mind you, it's not really a port anymore, since they share the same x86 processor, it is more of a 'tweak the game differently'.

Who cares? Very very few people buy CPUs at a high frequency. Many people are rocking the 2600k, when you upgrade CPU you skip multiple generations. I'd rather have an up to date motherboard than a z270 that has been hacked to 'just work' with the higher power consumption.
