Yeah, this is a serious curve. Anybody got any experience with this type of curvature?
Any better than a 1500R type curve?
Would just like to know for future reference as I've been really happy going 1500R from flat.
Cheers.
I think it's a perfectly good idea. DD reduces thermals which reduces voltage which reduces the amount of wattage needed. It's actually surprising how good it is, it's just a pita doing it.
The hard part is delidding. You gota look out for the SMD caps taking the IHS off as there isn't much...
Yeah, never had an issue, just gota know how to not cook your CPU but it helps when you've been OCing for 20 years and know what parameters in the bios to manipulate.
Im not saying Intel is not to blame here but it could be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
It's interesting who's to blame when you see something like this:
RTX 4090s continue to melt — GPU repair facility claims it works on 200 flagship Nvidia cards per month | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com)
In saying that, we don't know which GPU's are having issues with these so-called Intel...
Hopefully they come with a new ILM too : )
They were talking some BS about this with intel's latest KS series: Delidded Core i9-14900KS CPU now available from select system integrators with full warranty - VideoCardz.com
Hmm, had a good mate of mine ring me needing help (and he was the one who taught me how to build PC's) because he bought a 13700K and Z690 combo from our local PC shop.
Turns out his Gigabyte Z690 wouldn't boot with the 13700K installed. We had to install my 12900K to flash the bios, but I told...
I think the biggest problem would be the CPU not being supported for a given mobo. Just remember that Z790 (and the rest) was based on 13th gen.
You would wana hope the board supports bios flashing without a functional CPU, or hope the board is new enough that the manufacturer has released it...
Yeah, lols. I know silicon is better on the upper models of 14th gen but what about IMC? Could be roughly all the same so they just got a tray of 14600k coz they are cheaper to bin?
Makes me wonder why they are releasing it.
Maybe they know something we dont?
It's actually only 5.5 years. Just goes to show that even a 5-year plan on a GPU is pushing it.
These older cards actually need DLSS and in retrospect these newer cards might actually have a chance of surviving because of this technology.
Time will tell.
No X58 on that list yet mate : (
Yeah, I've got prob maybe 50 cards, and mine all come boxed with their original retail packaging, so a lot of room is needed. Lucky I built a big shed outback : )
I also collect Sega Mega Drive games as it was one of my favorite consoles when I was like 12...
