[WTB][US] LGA 1366 ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard

Looking for a R3E or R3 "Black Edition" motherboard. I'm also checking on some of the other forum classified sections, Ebay, CraigsList, etc. (My old sample is no longer functioning.)

12900k with DDR5 points per day

W10 was having a scheduling issue running WCG with my i5-12600K where it would load all cores/threads briefly at first, but it would then idle the P-cores and leave just the E-cores loaded. I could disable the E-cores in BIOS and run just the P-cores and WCG would run all 6c/12T @100%. I decided...

    AMD Ryzen Processor Broke

That's a bummer! I've had some slightly bent pins happen to an AMD CPU but nothing major and with careful adjustment I was able to straighten them up. I've also had second hand LGA motherboards from Ebay not properly packed and arrive with LGA pin damage. Depending on the severity sometimes...

That looks like a NH-U9B variant?? You need to get the correct new Noctua NM-i17xx bottom bracket adaptor for you cooler. The original 115X bracket might work for short term temporary use but there are some changes to ADL socket specs vs 115X. There are two types of new Noctua brackets available...

I'm running open air bench style... I prefer to run thick 420 rads on my main rigs... Currently 5950/5900X. From what I've seen the 12600K runs fine @ stock settings (all core) which drops to 45x on my setup. With a decent tower cooler and or a thin 240 type rad I was ok @48x all core. If you...

I was testing my chip at 50x with Prime95 non-AVX 6C/6T and E cores disabled using a thin 240 rad. Stress was running fine at first with temps in the low to mid 70's. I left the room for a while and when I came back later to check it had completely heat soaked the radiator and temps were in...

I don't think my sample is as strong as yours... Mine needs more voltage for ~100MHz less at ~52x... (52P/38E) Also... If people think there're going to be running these new ADL cpu at 50x to 53x (all core) with long term heavy loads on average air coolers and thin 240 AIO's... I think they...

I'm wondering if this is now a BIOS related issue for Gigabyte motherboards? Or is this some kind of Intel ADL "limit" that applies to all of the other motherboard makers? If ASUS, MSI, ASRock can design a BIOS to circumvent a type of ADL default rules like what we are seeing here then GIgabyte...

I also have the XSPC Raystorm waterblock . The Intel and AMD versions were sold as two separate blocks but you could buy adapter kits to convert from one to the other. The aluminum bracket will fit on top of the AMD version block but you still need the bottom bracket and the correct posts...

I see what your saying and I can see it on my setup too while running AIDA stress at P49x/E38x... As early adopters I guess we'll have to deal with some issues that can hopefully get sorted out. BTW... I download a newly released "beta" HWiNFO today.

Maybe it is something BIOS related? We are both running Gigabyte DDR4 boards?... It is still quite early with ADL. I'm wondering if this also happens with the new i7/i9 cpus?? How about other board manufacturers? I not much of a gamer so I can't really test that aspect but I'm going to continue...

I'm not sure if it is something similar... But I did noticed ~200MHz core drops when enabling AIDA FPU @50x. I was thinking it was some kind of BIOS auto AVX offset? As it doesn't do that with just AIDA CPU enabled. You might try and disable the E-cores and test just the P-cores with your board...

Curious as to how much VCCSA for Gear 1 @2000MHz were you needing? Also on a side note... My last/previous AIDA screenshot proved unstable at 5GHz all core. I think the -2 AVX offset and the FPU stress component was dropping too many cores down to 48x. I took the same settings and disabled the...
