    Throttlestop overclocking Desktop PCs

Since there are no aftermarket OC parts for laptops those guys get pretty creative. Software like RW Everything and other tricks abound there. It may not produce much in the way of results, but could provide some useful info.

    Throttlestop overclocking Desktop PCs

I think desktops are better candidates for this. Especially the ones with locked BIOS and unlocked CPUs. It still differs from normal overclocking in that the multiplier instead of bus speed is used. Some people think this is push button overclocking, but you still need power and cooling to...

TS came out of laptop undervolting to start with. The OC stuff got buried in the laptop threads, and ignored in the major OC forums. So I started this dedicated thread. So even though it's laptop TS overclocking it works here. it got mentioned in the laptop threads but lost in the thousands of...

One vendor of surplus Dell workstations said it was a known issue with the T5500. This may have been in the Throtttlestop Overclocking thread where we were trying to figure out if the T5500 MB was useful for that. It cost nothing to tip it over and see what happens.

One vendor of used T5500 said it's hit or miss with the extension boards. Sometimes they only run with the computer in desktop orientation (flay on it's back). There is a sideways drive bay to run them this way. They fit in a server rack. I think it's the MB socket, but maybe the riser??? Never...

You really have to read the label on the Dell PSU, and divide up the separate 12V x18Amp (216W) rails to see what you actually have, and how it's divided up between the cables. It's not uncommon to have a lot more total power, but not enough connectors to use it all. This produces safe and...

One thing to consider is whether older CPUs have all of the instruction sets needed for newer programs. This would be a deal breaker. MPU drivers for other apps may need math instruction sets that gamers don't need to consider. MPUs and technical GPUs tend to have ECC RAM on the GPU. It's a...

My guess is that you're getting the BIOS video resolution only. I would try R&R video drivers. The driver software package may be the same version for both cards, but the settings for each GPU can vary. I would look for a GPU driver removal tool.

The 2nd CPU riser card/ socket is known to have issues on the T5500. Whether that can take down the MB IDK. I've had to use a GPU driver removal program in the past when swapping GPUs. Usually going from AMD to Nvidia. Did you try booting Safe Mode to see if basic VGA stuff is working?

The Tesla is an MPU. The GPU limit might not apply, but may be real for GPUs. Not sure how a Tesla 16GB as GPU would play out.

There are some "expectation of privacy" caveats also. Audio is treated differently than video I believe (at least where I live). It can vary from state to state I've noticed some interest by younger guys (college aged)in older overclocks. Especially 15 year old Dell computers hitting 4GHz. One...

I have no experience with this yet. But historically Registry edits are needed to get the Tesla MPU recognized as a GPU (even though the MPU is physically a GPU). I got the Tesla P100 because Nvidia released a gaming driver for this card that eliminates that step. I think you just need to find...

60 core 240 threads. At a screaming 1.2GHz........ Everything I have no use for and then some.

I've mentioned the Nvidia tesla P100 GPU a few places. There is one thing that needs to be understood about this card. It was sold as a math processor for use in servers. Servers don't have Video cards, or VGA power cables on their PSUs. So the Tesla 8 pin connector is not an 8 pin GPU...
