    AGP - X1950 Pro experiences

That is about consisent with the people that provide feedback for the various models of x1950 pro on Newegg. I suspect there were some bad components that got out to all the OEMs and manufacturers etc.

    AGP - X1950 Pro experiences

Accelero is quieter, but it doesn't cool better. The issues is how quiet and how cool and what would you trade between the different solutions.

    AGP - X1950 Pro experiences

Power color had to redo their VRM coolers, and even put a note on their specs about that on their website for the x1950 pro agp with the accelero X2. It doesn't get hot if has got proper cooling.

AGP voltage increase in bios...card run better???

Theoretically speaking, aperture size should only matter when your all the texture sizes added up exceed the memory on your video card. However the reality is some cards are more fussy than others about what aperture size is given. So if your having stability problems it is one more thing to...

AGP voltage increase in bios...card run better???

I'm running 1.6v for the 9800xt and x850 xt and 1.55v for the x1950 pro. All have disable fast writes. The AGP 3.0 calibration is disabled for the 9800xt but enabled for the others. AGP aperture size is set to 128mb for the x1950 pro and x850xt and 64mb for the 9800xt.

    AGP - X1950 Pro experiences

The Arctic Cooler Accelero X2 is great. The IceQ3 is quiet, and it is quieter than the nVSilencer I had on my 6800gt. But the Accelero is even more silent than that. The temperature I'm getting with the IceQ3 and the Accelero at idle were all in the mid 30s celsius. Since I couldn't get the...

AGP voltage increase in bios...card run better???

Well I am an idiot. I keep buying ATI stuff, because sometimes their performance per dollar is simply undeniable. But it doesn't mean I'm gonna give them a free pass on the stuff they keep screwing up on.

    AGP - X1950 Pro experiences

I voted unstable because I'm on my second x1950 pro. The powercolor x1950 pro was certainly unstable due to inadequte VRM cooling which they may have a fix for now with heatsink upgrades. Currently I'm running the HIS Iceq3 256M x1950 pro agp, and I can't say it is 100% stable because I've found...

AGP voltage increase in bios...card run better???

Misery likes company. Glad to know another ATI user need to up the AGP voltage. Cursed ATI is always trouble of this sort one way or the other. Up that voltage. Disable fast writes. No AGP calibration cycle. etc. Every motherboard is different with every ATI card and the curse is for you to find...

Get your X1950Pro modded BIOS here

Sorry for such an oddball request. I have a HIS Iceq3 x1950 pro factory overclocked at 620.1480. I was wondering if there is bios I can use that sets it to the ATI reference standard at 575/1380? I am trying to chase down some stability problems. Thanks.

    x1950 pro crashes

I upgraded from an nVidia 6800gt. I plug back the 6800gt for a couple of weeks after the first x1950 pro was being RMA-ed thru the mail. The system is rock solid as it has been for 2+ years with the 6800gt. Other games seemed to be stable as far as I can tell with the x1950 pro. Perhaps they...

    x1950 pro crashes

I am not overclocking a single thing. The HIS Iceq3 x1950 pro (which I got after I RMA-ed the Powercolor one and got this one in exchange)comes factory overclocked, so its standard is at 620/1480 and that is the lowest I can get it to go, and I definitely am NOT going to try overclocking that...

    x1950 pro crashes

As for the Powercolor x1950 pro AGP with the Accerlero 2, they did NOT provide adequate cooling for the VRM. The VRMs get real hot real quick and the thing becomes unstable. I've heard recently that the Arctic Cooling and Powercolor/Tul updated the Accelero 2 with VRM heatsinks.

    x1950 pro crashes

I wish it was as simple as overheating. I have some experience and some cheezy hack job techniques with fans and aluminum ducting that can almost always guarantee to lower video card temperatures. Heck I can duct some -10F from the outside right now. As it stands, even without running the fans...

    x1950 pro crashes

The Corsair HX520 is the 4th power supply I got after RMA-ed the last 3. I tried 600W 30A single rails. 550W 22Ax2 dual rails, etc. Somehow I get the feeling it isn't the PSU. Futhermore, this what I've found after a bit more searching...
