Just ran 3DMark06, at 1280x768, 4x AA, 16x AF with an 8800 Ultra.........same settings as posted there, BUT with a C2D 6850 @ 3.5, NOT a Quad..........and got 11,355.

My X-Fi is fully compatible in Vista, BUT...........I do use Alchemy. It's a free download though, dunno why you said $10? Am I missing something?

4 gigs fast RAM > 2 gigs super fast RAM Bandwidth/speed difference = MINOR performance difference, even less in real world apps. Therefore, unless you plan on breaking some records, go with 4 gigs instead. That about covers it.

Excellent card right there.....I run an X-Fi and am very happy with it. Big boost in sound quality, drivers are great (Vista problems all fixed now too), full feature set. Really can't go wrong with an X-Fi for that price.

The CM 690 has excellent cable management opportunities, far better than the Antec 900, but it is a midtower after all. The stackers have alot more room, but the designs are becoming very dated.......most new towers have better features, ease of installation, and cable management abilities...
