Windows 10 Scheduler Aware of "Lakefield" Hybrid Topologies, Benchmarked

I totally agree with the "no hate" viewpoint here. We should praise competition and enjoy every great product no matter which company launches it. But i think Intel deserves at least some of the current backlash cause of the way they treated security in their latest iterations of CPUs (Meltdown...

Apple Introduces macOS Big Sur with a Beautiful New Design

Apple seems to me a bit erratic in their decision to find a proper CPU architecture for them... Motorola (CISC), then IBM PowerPC (RISC), then Intel (CISC) and now their own ARM stuff (RISC). Looking at these decisions i might predict the next thing they'll do regarding their CPU architecture...

AMD FX-8350 Pushed to 8.1 GHz via Extreme Overclocking by Der8auer

AFAIK the higher records were achieved using helium instead of liquid nitrogen - therefore this one stands for its own.

MSI Betrays AMD's Socket AM4 Longevity Promise: No Zen2 for 300-series?

A good AM4 motherboard costs about 130$ at the moment ... i cant blame the manufacturers if they want so sell more/newer ones.

MSI Betrays AMD's Socket AM4 Longevity Promise: No Zen2 for 300-series?

Good choice. I bought my ASRock X370 Killer SLI just when the first Ryzen CPUs were available. And also equipped it with 64GB of RAM. It ran flawless from the start, even when media was full of memory incompatibility issues with Ryzen at that time. Will buy my next board also from that brand.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Cinebench Numbers Out

Thats true for all operations as there is always some management overhead for the actual task to compute. And with increasing units, who do the compute work (cores, shader, whatever), the management overhead rises. In general tasks are never only compute. You always need to feed the units with...

TechPowerUp Processor Survey Results: The Ryzen Effect is Real

Steam Survey isnt real at the moment as the PUBG crowd is dominant and this game favors Intel CPUs. To which kind of businesses you sell? Retailers or companies? If the latter then thats also not the complete picture. Companies buy office hardware which is still in the most cases Intel. Just...

Intel: "If [AMD] Wanted an Intel Core i7-8086K CPU, [They] Could Have Just Asked Us"

Might be, but for a good friendly rivalry an answer on the same level is needed. To keep up with the level is the sign of respect needed. And by the way, i dont believe that AMD is a friendly rival to a company which used every possible trick to keep its de facto monopoly. Till this day they try...

Aorus Creates Its Greatest Gaming Laptops to Date: X9 DT, X7 DT V8, and X5 V8

You should be happy to be still alive. The coolant is similar to the antifreeze you fill into cars and contains Ethylene clycol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antifreeze#Ethylene_glycol) which builds crystals in your kidneys and make you pee blood. Kids, dont do such stuff at home!

AMD Reveals Specs of Ryzen 2000G "Raven Ridge" APUs

Well, the normal non-pro Ryzen Desktop CPUs all support ECC. So yes, might be up to the MBs, but the Pro stuff is not an argument. The Bulldozers supported it also, and im not aware of any Bulldozer Pro line.

After these security flaws should i go with Intel 8700k or AMD R 1700?

What Intel really needs at the moment is that customers stay away 1 or 2 years from their products. They betrayed all customers when launching 8th generation cause they knew about the security flaws when they did the lauch. Also they gave us only minor performance bumps (3%) and not more cores...
