NVIDIA Readies RTX 3060 8GB and RTX 3080 20GB Models

I don't see that happening at all. It would be too expensive for the performance class it's in.

Does anyone pay for distributed computing that isn't mining crypto?

I remember many years ago there were several of these but they all eventually failed or the pay was lousy. Are there any active projects now that will pay you for leaving your computer on with their app running in the background? Like I said in the title, NO CRYPTO MINING.

No more DVI ports on gpus?

Which would fall under the heading of "adapter" since you're turning an HDMI port into a DVI port the same as you would using a dongle.

Crysis Remastered Could be Coming Soon

Crysis, November 2007: 8800 GTX couldn't run it on Ultra settings Crysis Remastered, 2020-2021: RTX 3090 can't run it on Ultra settings.

NVIDIA Reserves NVLink Support For The RTX 3090

They've been moving multi-GPU upmarket one step at a time for a while now. They will either leave it where is now, on the Titan class cards only, or get rid of it entirely from consumer cards. Quadros will probably still be able to use NVLink, though, no matter what because there will always be...

Bethesda Brings Widescreen Support In Major Update For DOOM & DOOM II

When you said widescreen, I thought you meant 3440x1440.

AMD 4th Gen Ryzen "Vermeer" Zen 3 Rumored to Include 10-core Parts

They probably found themselves with a bunch of 12 core parts that were faulty and laser cut the bad cores to make them sellable. You should know how this game is played by now.

US Government Could Blacklist Chinese Chipmaker SMIC

Depending on companies with ties to governments that hate you is never a good idea.

Microsoft Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Expands To Include EA Play

So glad I recently upgraded my XBox Live Gold to Gamepass Ultimate. It was only $5 a month more and I can play a lot more games than I would ordinarily be able to, and still buy games that I really want for a discount, AND get free games every month, AND the same account works on both XBox and PC.

Microsoft Reveals Final Pricing and Availability of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S

Not excited at all, except that it forces Sony to rethink their pricing structure. I'd rather buy a new video card for my PC, since all the XBox games will also release on PC. There's no point to buying an XBox at all. The Series S isn't even as much of a bargain as it appears, because you lose...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ampere Launching Before the RTX 3060?

That would put it too close to the 3070 in performance. They don't want another 1070 Ti situation where it could match the vanilla 1080 in performance with a just a small tweak to the clocks. Who would want to buy a 3070, then? They are probably making these from binned chips that are already...

No more DVI ports on gpus?

Displayport and HDMI are rapidly becoming the only two ports you'll find on new monitors these days, so there's no need for DVI anymore. You'll need an adapter or a newer monitor that supports DP and HDMI if DVI is all you have.

    A bad investment, a fake 1050ti

First of all, check the box that says 'US sellers only' when searching on ebay. It won't filter out all the scammers, but will catch a large number of them as most of these fake cards are being sold by Chinese sellers. Second, you have to know what the card you are looking for actually looks...

HP Envy x360 with 1440p screen?

So I bought a refurb HP Envy x360 with the AMD FX 9800P and recently discovered I could set the screen resolution to 2560x1440 despite HP advertising this machine as only being capable of 1920x1080. Has anyone else bought one of these and found they could change the resolution to 1440P? I was...

AMD and NVIDIA Add-in-Board GPU Market Share from 2002 to Q3/2016

If AMD doesn't do something about the 460's lack of performance relative to GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, that gap is going to get even bigger. nVidia's partners are going to be peddling those cards to the low end of the market as fast as they can make them and 460 is going to get squashed.
