the two 3.5mm jacks in the headphones are one for the headphones and the other for the mic. the headphones are connected into the front speakers port, so I guess you only need one spliter as dark2099 posted. as I looked here the mic is not shared with any speaker

as other suggested it might be the on board audio. try disabling the audio in the BIOS. play with no audio and see if it still crash.

thanks lemonadesoda :) I never knew this info about the linking of partitions. I have 4 partitions, and always used to have them as primery + 3 logigical, since the old days of DOS :D guess I should change it now.
