Qiyida x99 M9 motherboard does not recognize my rx570

If you need to flash the BIOS, I'd recommend looking at Miyconst's database. I can't say for sure, but there is a good chance that it includes the BIOS file you need. The M9 is not included in the list, but most Chinese X99 motherboards are sold under multiple different names, and there may be a...

Qubic Cryptocurrency Mining Craze Causes AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Stocks to Evaporate

I didn't say they don't degrade. It's just that modern CPUs don't degrade significantly over their normal lifetime if they are properly cooled and aren't overvolted. In other words, VRAM degrades much faster than CPUs.

Qubic Cryptocurrency Mining Craze Causes AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Stocks to Evaporate

GDDR5 degrades significantly under heavy use. CPUs and GPUs do not. Buying second-hand CPUs is very low-risk. Buying second-hand GPUs with new VRAM is also usually fine, if they've been put together competently.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D Drops to $409, to Clash with Core i7-14700K

Yeah, but so does the 7800X3D, at a lower price. The 7900X3D does make sense for some people, but for people who prioritise gaming performance the 7800X3D is better, and for people who prioritise workstation performance the 7950X is better. For people who want a balance of gaming and...

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D Drops to $409, to Clash with Core i7-14700K

Yes. In workstation applications which don't benefit significantly from increased cache capacity, but which benefit from higher boost clock frequencies across more than 8 cores. A few random examples from Techpowerup's benchmarks of the 7950X3D - the 7950X has slightly better performance...

Online multiplayer PC games that have heavy use of mics and are a laugh

The obvious thing that comes to my mind is Team Fortress 2. Most players don't use mics, but plenty of them do. Some of my best ever gaming experiences come from TF2. The majority of the game is chaotic free-for-all with 10-20 people, but you can find more serious competitive servers, and you...

    First gaming PC Build

I mostly agree with this. In practice, a lot of PSUs don't scale as well at low and high power as their 80 Plus ratings indicate - for example, there are a lot of 80 Plus Bronze rated PSUs that have scored at less than 82% efficiency at 20% or 100% load in independent tests. The tests that the...

    First gaming PC Build

It depends on your personal plans. If you're likely to want to swap to a significantly more powerful CPU or GPU within the next few years (e.g. 2-4 years) it would be worth spending a bit more to get a 650W PSU now. If you're more likely to replace the whole PC when you want an upgrade in the...

    First gaming PC Build

While this is true, it's useful to buy an overspecced PSU for low-end builds like this so that you have future upgrade options. For example, I bought my PC with a low-end Ryzen 3 2300X and RX 480 configuration in 2019, with a 600W PSU which was significantly more than those components would ever...

    Ryzen 7 5800x3d or 7800x3d

There are rumours that AMD is going to release a "Ryzen 7 5700X3D" soon, which should be similar to the 5800X3D, but cheaper (effectively the same as what the 5700X is to the 5800X - they're physically the same CPU, the 5800X just has higher clock frequency, and there isn't a large performance...

    SSD for B450M DS3H

The Teamgroup MP44, and some versions of the Silicon Power UD90, also use the same controller and NAND as the NV7000-t and NM790. It seems that the combination is very popular, though it makes sense, considering the performance and price. Techpowerup's SSD spec pages have a handy "same drive"...

    SSD for B450M DS3H

Netac NV7000-T (the DRAMless version of the Netac NV7000) is physically identical to the NM790 (same Maxio MAP1602 controller, same YMTC 232-Layer 3D TLC NAND, same performance in Techpowerup's benchmarks), and is sometimes cheaper, so is also worth considering. You can buy them directly from...

    SSD for B450M DS3H

Honestly, you don't even need to worry about the PCIe version, unless you use your PC for workstation tasks that actually benefit from the higher sequential bandwidth. General PC usage and gaming don't actually benefit to any significant degree from SSDs with higher sequential bandwidth. By far...

    AMD Readies Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D Socket AM4 Processors

The logic isn't flawed, it's obvious. If products and updates are still being released for a platform, even if the products are just cut-down or modified versions of previous products, the platform is not dead. It's possible for a CPU manufacturer to support multiple platforms at once (and...

Finally upgrading my PC for the first time after 4 years - any tips?

I get that this would help thin the paste if it was still at least somewhat liquid, but does this work when the paste is completely solid?
