    Fallout: New Vegas!

Just started playing FO:NV a couple of days ago. So far, no game-stopping bugs, and the game seems decent (I really loved FO3). I am running it on my new p67/i2500/GTX570 system..runs super smooth with everything maxed out and 4xAA/15xAF @1920x1200. It's been a while since I have been...

    Defrag Software for free ?

I am a Diskeeper 2010 user, great utility, but unfortunately not free. That's the Libyan dictator Gaddafi, if I am not wrong? Looks like a washed out 70s rock star.:D

    Graphics card Hall of Fame

Hah, I upgraded from an intel i740 to a 32Mb GeForce 256 back in January 2000. It was like getting a whole new system...Q3 running smoothly at 800x600 on a 17" CRT monitor...lol.. I paid US$300 for the card IIRC.

The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Thread

The 'third level' was the best IMHO..the area with the river, lady of the lake, grassland etc. If you had a decent weapon/spell capability, you could have a lot of fun on that level.:)

I am running XP and Avira on that rig.:)

How to defrag a HDD properly

Currently, I keep the OS and all the program files (games, Office, Adobe CS4 etc) on C: which is an unpartitioned 640GB drive. My other files are all on the remaining 3 drives- G, M and P. Page file has its own small partition on M:, and P: is solely for RAW/TIFF/JPEG files from my dslr. I have...

    Best Virus Protection

I am using Avira, and upon my recommendation my friend was using it too. Strangely, a nasty called yurd.exe got past Antivir and infected his XP system. Started showing random popups. Antivir wouldn't even classify it as a virus/trojan/worm/whatever even if the executable was scanned directly...

Best defragger for 7... the default?

Diskeeper, as always, is my choice! Fragmentation prevention is cool.

    Hard Disc Diagnostic Software

^ Looks good; I'd use the manufacturer's diagnostic tools always if possible. It should be able to scan the entire drive and provide a health report. Once you've formatted the drive, you can always use chkdsk to check for filesystem errors (it's going to takes ages on a 1TB though).

Need help with cloning and restoring..

Yeah, Acronis is great for cloning. If your drives are Seagate, you can use a stripped down version of ATI called Seagate DiscWizard that does the same thing. It's free! http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/discwizard EDIT: looks like it's available for WD too...

    Battlefield Bad Company 2 Clubhouse

I've been playing mainly Assault, and I've come to love the AN-94-magnum-RDS combo for its stopping power and accuracy:cool: Played a bit of Medic (so easy to level up lol) and recon too, but for some reason the Engineer class really doesn't appeal to me. I am tempted to start playing engi...

    Need an Antivirus Program

A/V : Avira is great (free edition is what I use). TBH, it's perhaps the only free a/v that has worked without any hitch whatsoever for me. MSE would be a second choice, but I've run into some issues with it on my XP desktop previously, no problems on the laptop so far. Defragger...

    Battlefield Bad Company 2 Clubhouse

You mean in-game server browser? It still sucks the proverbials. Slow, clunky, doesn't filter properly, and now the refresh button seems to have gone missing.

    Internal Drive+Enclosure or External Drive

Does active cooling matter all that much if the drive is only for backup i.e. occasional, use? A good aluminum enclosure and a decent SATA drive should do the trick I feel. I am using a 320GB 2.5" drive in a Vantec nexstar sx enclosure for backups from my notebook, and it works nicely..cool...

No one talking about Creativity Suite 5 ?

I use fully legal (single user license) CS3 and CS4 Web Premium Suites currently, and will definitely be getting the CS5 version when it hits the shelves. And just as for CS3 and CS4 I should be paying only the equivalent of about US$80 due to educational pricing for students and staff at my...
