That's true. The first game that comes to mind is Battlefield 3 - they are doing multiplatform the right way. :)

Yeah I know, I tried it. :) The full game itself as of now has no mod support. Even the .pak is encrypted and Crytek levied down even harder on any modding in their last patch... Custom configs aren't allowed anymore, the developer console is useless, the entire game is pretty much off limits...

Crysis 2 has no mod support planned for the future, everything is encrypted. Crytek is releasing an SDK in the summer that is meant for indie developers or total mods like MWLL. A simple Sandbox like Crysis had is not planned and Crysis 2 will remain "legally" unmoddable.

Yep, that is exactly what I am trying to explain and show Crytek. :) I am sure they can do the number crunching themselves and come up with a conclusion but as long as I can (hopefully) get them to open their eyes to the PC benefits of profit margins, that will be very good indeed. :)

Well so far the "percieved return on investment" hasn't been working too well for Crytek. ^-^ Crysis 2 is about 1.2 mil into sales and they are stopping very quickly. Crysis 1 sold over 3.5 million physical copies and then you have digital sales which net 3x the profit of a single console...

Thanks for the warm introduction. :) I know what you guys mean, I luckily stayed away from Crysis 2 after purchasing all their prior games back to Far Cry in 2004. I am just hoping that they can recover with their next game development.
