Currently have a GTX 690 and wont go 4K soon unless nVidia out a really good single GPU solution that can do 4K reasonably well and 4K displays are under $400,no upgrades for me :(
james888 is right on this one. It's not about having the "fastest and latest" GPU that matters, it's about getting the performance you want and need. You will be going through this cycle next year again.;)
Something is wrong...this is the point where you remove your hard drive and back up everything in it. This seems more of a power management issue than anything else.
Would suggest completely discharging the laptop but that wouldn't be 100% because of the CMOS battery.
