95w TDP?! dang I didn't realize that! CPU's have come a long way for the performance per watt.
specifically the Q6600 @ 65nm Lithography & 105w TDP :joy:
That's just insane. gotta love old hardware tho, best fun to tinker around with.
Yeah, for the screw-in heatsinks you will need a back plate or something to screw to.
(you can test if the heatsink fits the backplate by just screwing it to the back plate without anything between them. It makes it much easier to manage stuff : )
Some cases have the metal motherboard holder...
Couldn't you measure each different capacitor with a multi meter or something to see if the capacitors have the same output or same voltage?
Does the GPU even work without them? :D
You ever find your issue?
What's the GPU temp? Also have you tried stock clocks? Meaning try setting TS back to default settings and letting the laptop run off "stock clocks".
Some rendering software is coded for CPU only, FYI.
Some other programs also only utilize CPU for calculating some things too. if you ever run VM's more than 20 cores is a plus.
Just trying to say, getting more cores because you can isn't always a bad thing :D
I didn't really modify the bios, just was editing clock speeds for better mining using,

There's also one for Fiji

Because there is absolutely NO information on bios modding/fixing for AMD's Firepro's I decided to post my findings about them. (I've made a reddit post but posted it in the wrong group so it maybe removed.)
NOTE: this should also work with similar cards (e.g AMD r9 280)
Also note I'm not...
