Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut scratching and denting.

I've remained with NT-H1 myself, the tube that came "free" with my NH-D15S cooler will last for ages, hell, I still have MX2 and MX3 paste somewhere from what must be a decade now, never got to fully using it. The scratching could be caused by zinc oxide fragments. The paste has to be ground...

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut scratching and denting.

I thought about that too, but he posted it publicly himself here, plus it's a corporate email, so I guess he's fine with it. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/solved-thermal-grizzly-kryonaut-psa-nasty-scratching.261985/post-4168679

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut scratching and denting.

Yeah, I noticed. At least that hopefully means the bad batches are quite rare. Or that most people just use it and then leave it untouched for years I would not have noticed the scratches either, but it was my first time delidding and I basically did it like 3 times to see how it works without...

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut scratching and denting.

They're in that linked post above yours. The TG representative was very amiable and fast, and basically put enough money for a new cooling solution on my Paypal, so I have nothing to complain about that. But Kryonaut I'm definitely not risking again. Conductonaut sure, that thing is amazing...

How many reads/writes does your NVMe SSD('s) have

There's another 970 Evo with 1 media error on the first page. Looks rather peculiar and more like some sort of firmware issue. My Evo+ shows 0. Those errors should appear around the time after the SSD exhausted its reserves, not with just 3.5TB written which is nothing. A quick look on google...

    Linpack Xtreme Released

I think I know what the "issue" is. You're likely comparing the results from the benchmark to those from stresstesting, which uses all the threads. I'm getting 232 Gflops from the bench, but 340 Gflops on the stresstest with 8GB RAM used that runs on all threads.

    Linpack Xtreme Released

You need to see what is causing your chip to throttle under the stresstest, could be VRMs heating up, CPU thermals, power limits in BIOS. You should have also finished the Windows update process before stresstesting. You can see the throttling reasons in HWinfo64.

Higher C States and (mostly GPU) performance

What exactly shaves 7 fps when you go from Auto/C1 to C8? More importantly, this is NOT about CPU clocks. How I tested to reach that conclusion: - CPU locked at 5GHz (instead of 4.3GHz as it is on Auto) - C8 C-State in BIOS. - performance is still abysmal at 71 fps, 5GHz locked does nothing to...

Higher C States and (mostly GPU) performance

Hello, I wondered if anyone feels like trying to confirm my findings about "deeper" C states and how they affect performance. Let's go step by step so it's easier to read. - it's about the specs in the profile, so a 8700k, Z370 platform - according to Throttlestop, "Auto" in BIOS seems to...

NOCTUA in trouble? - Leo tests the NEW Zalman CNPS20X !

I watched both videos and found them intriguing. I am using a D15S which works great so there's no reason for me to change, and also have a few oldie Zalman CPUs from the past. I have a CNPS10x Optima on my FX8350 system and it always worked well, so I'm not that surprised that Zalman can...

    Is VRAM overclocking safe?

My 1070ti with Micron VRAM can only do about +350MHz on it before things get unstable. At first I thought +400 worked OK, but the card would TDR 1-2 times/month. I'll have to assume very few actually care about rock solid stability. Most people that OC do it the fast&dirty way after settings...

Prime95 v26.6. Which are normal temps?

All of the decent AIOs are Asetek designs, I think? I'm not really knowledgeable enough about AIOs and water cooling to give advice on what to buy. I'm not sure the 280mm vs 240mm jump will be very high, maybe -5C? And lower noise levels, the 140mm fans will be quieter. Other AIOs should offer...

Prime95 v26.6. Which are normal temps?

If it's non-K there's little point to delid it. It will boost relatively to the same clocks. HT can help in some games that need threads, like AC: Odyssey/Origins, especially in cities. It will also be better rendering, encoding etc. But quite a few games are actually doing a bit worse on HT...

Prime95 v26.6. Which are normal temps?

You're fine even at 100C (not for non-stop usage). Even without any cooling whatsoever, these chips will throttle and downclock, but not shut down. These chips are a little marvel. You can turn your subtitles on for English. Obviously, cooler is better, as it results in increased longevity for...
