please let me know your purpose of gpu upgrade. if you aim to do light/medium gaming then i think gt710 is not the right choice for you and you should look for the upper class of gpu, and also you need to check your power supply because you have to make sure it can handle your new gpu.
i assume not since this is not a reference card so the pcb might have been modified, but i could be wrong, if so this is definitely a good choice for rx 480, cheap, 8gb unlockable, 2 fans!
this new cooler design looks pretty bulky for me, i don't get the idea of fat ass cooling solutions that aib are trying to do these day, where is aesthetic seriously?
I dont't think elpida or samsung memory chip matter seriously, unless you are a oc enthusiast that is ready to crank the shit out of you vga then it might matter a little to be honest. Otherwise the overall quality of evga sc version is good though.
i searched on the net based on the manufacturer id 1B0A and found out the vga is from a taiwannese manufacturer named Pegatron who actually does oem products for branded pc maker like HP. Anyway, that does not concern me anymore as overall the card already satisfied me lol.
The other day a friend of mine sold me a gtx 970 for cheap, he says he took it out from his hp envy phoenix 850 prebuilt. I must admit at first i have a little doubt about this card because it has no brand logo on it! but once i install it in my case and boot up, gpu-z actually shows gtx 970 but...
yeah i stand corrected founders' edition is indeed also manufactured by AIB but follow nvidia's design and everything so i believe the quality is pretty much the same in comparison to founders' edition made by nvidia.
i believe the new gtx 1070 could be 25-30% faster than gtx 970 and on par with the gtx 980ti for the most part which a bit faster than the titan x (in term of power efficiency at least). Again this is purely my speculation but based on what nvidia has revealed and rumours, this sounds about...
Well basically, nvidia has to come up with a different name rather than ref edition so they make it founders' edition and raise the price by 100$ from msrp so they don't compete directly with their pcb partners (evga, asus, msi...). And by renameming to founders' edition it makes more sense for...
