Avexir Core Series DDR3 Memory with Blue LEDs Released

Pff. I used to have Corsair DDR1 that had about 16 LEDs on the top of the heatspreader showing mem usage and activity in different colours. Whatever happened to those, eh?

Thailand Floods: HDD Prices To Remain Extortionately High As Supplies Get Tighter

Nabbed another 5 drives, empty shelves in all 3 local branches of the shop now. 18 TB should see me through these terrible dark times!

Thailand Floods: HDD Prices To Remain Extortionately High As Supplies Get Tighter

2TB externals here are the ones I found at an unadjusted price. Bought 4 so far, may pick-up some more today. Just a normal Seagate Barracuda Green inside.

Thailand Floods: HDD Prices To Remain Extortionately High As Supplies Get Tighter

There are still some bargains out there if you look in shops too slow to react.

AMD In for Total Restructuring, Executive Layoffs at Hand

Hopefully they just swipe off the fat, culling marketroids and such, but keeping all their engineers.

Well, it's no worse than gaming in your underpants.

ASUS Announces P7P55 WS SuperComputer Motherboard

It's still just sharing the same amount of lanes but splitting them with an NF200 chip though. May be useful to some, but WS screams X58 in my book.

ASUS Announces P7P55 WS SuperComputer Motherboard

I think it's traditional for ASUS to host its website on a 33.6k modem. Nice lane starved supercomputer board ASUS, how about an Atom version next?

EVGA Intros X58 SLI Micro Motherboard

You could put an extra PCIe x16 card in there for tri-GPU if you were so inclined. Some boards have the x4 slot open ended for this, others you'll have to use a saw to modify it slightly. In theory x16 cards should work in x1 slots too.. but it'd be even more cramped for bandwidth.

EVGA Intros X58 SLI Micro Motherboard

Yeah it would have to be on the top GPU, but it's always an option. This PCIe x1 extension doesn't look too pricey (£13/$22). Looking forward to the first reviews of this board. :)

EVGA Intros X58 SLI Micro Motherboard

Only two disappointments: - PCIe x1 instead of PCIe x4 as the 3rd slot (like all its competitors have..) - Sigh, lack of PS/2 mouse for KVM users. Another USB adapter to buy. I have to say it's the best looking board out of all of them. Will wait to see if it can beat the MSI X58M in...

TDK Launches SDG2A Series Solid-State Drives

I think I'll leave the details of these out of my postcard. The automatic encryption may be useful for some people though. Maybe they can do better with their next generation.. 5000x writes is a bit under par for MLC too isn't it?

Supermicro Launches 4W and 8W Atom Server Solutions

I don't suppose you know if any boards are using it yet? The D945GCLF2 still seems to use the power hungry one. I wonder if these supermicro servers allow 4GB of RAM, since there's 2 DIMM slots in the one pictured.
