    Your PC ATM

Just gonna leave this pic here of my ugly ass system. Currently trying to get it to run stable with 3GHz on 2x Epyc 7551 ES chips... VRMs are reaching 100 degrees under sustained load so need some fans on them. As you can see, the zip ties were brought out quite a few times. Bottom fans aren't...

Lmao what? A 140mm AIO cools worse than a cheaper air cooler. Only benefit of an AIO at that point is for it to take longer to reach max temp due to the higher specific heat capacity of water compared to air. You still end up reaching as high a temperature as an air cooler, it just takes...

Sites that graph headphone response, distortion, etc that are alternatives to headphone/headroom?

Big oof. Would have suggested MSR7s for the sound, but comfort kinda sucks on them. Think the newer version fixes a lot of the problems on that front though (ATH-MSR7b) but the pads are still kinda small so maybe not. He might enjoy IEMs more than headphones then. Crinacle makes a good ranked...

Beyerdynamics are just bright in general with an emphasised treble. This doesn't change with an amp... The DT880 is good though. Tried out the T1 gen 2 as well and it was pretty meh. Regardless of what pads you change the M40X to, the sound will change. Usually not for the better... Would rec...

Sites that graph headphone response, distortion, etc that are alternatives to headphone/headroom?

Lul, the M1060 is pretty cucked from the 10k ringing. Would rather take a HE-400i/4XX over them, even if they're pretty meh, all things considered. Would not recommend an M40X to anyone, even if it is better than an M50X (although that's not very hard) since the comfort is awful and replacing...

Yeah... I'd say gaming headsets are a bad idea. If you've got a budget that high, may as well get some dedicated headphones and a decent DAC/AMP setup. You're also not gonna get much soundstage when it comes to headsets, since they're almost always closed. (Not to mention that headsets 99% of...

    Radeon 5700 & 5700xt

Yeah, they say they did it for proof of performance or something like that but it was really a cost cutting measure.

Did you get a shiny new Ryzen 3000 CPU?

Thought your ram clock was quite decent.

Timmy Joe did a video on it if you're interested. Navi looks very interesting now.

The memory latency on Zen 2 looks pretty bad. Would have thought the chips only using 1 chiplet would do better in that regard... I get around 63ns running my 2700X with 32gb 3200 MHz CL14-14-14-28

GTX 1080 TI sli setup. Asking those still running sli.

Yeah, real problem is that some games will negatively scale with 2 or more GPUs.

AMD Zen 2 Memory Performance Scaling with Ryzen 9 3900X

People seem to forget memory overclocking is a thing that can be done, so buy ludicrously expensive memory kits. 4000+ MHz kits are just stupid and usually have awful timings anyway. Literally, just get a cheap B-die kit and either overclock it yourself or use the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen... I...

It depends on what you're doing with it tbh. If you're playing games that are bad with SLI, don't bother. If they're good with SLI, go for it.
