"In addition, Samsung has just launched a line-up of premium SSDs based on its 2nd generation V-NAND flash memory with 128 gigabyte (GB), 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options."
And the model numbers/names of those drives would be...?
Care to share which retailers? I see one listing from a 3rd party on Amazon for $750 for the 512GB and listings for all 3 capacities on ramcity.com.au, $674.99 AUD for the 512GB, so minus the 10% GST and converting to USD, $574.48 before any shipping and customs fees...
I really hope they are mistaken and actually used the 4x PCIe 2.0 lanes that hang directly off the CPU (and never seem to get used) rather than monopolizing 4x PCIe 3.0 lanes, as that would be rather daft.
I'm guessing it actually is the PCIe 3.0 lanes though, which is a nonstarter for anyone...
Interesting positioning of the M.2 on the Gaming 3. I'm curious if we'll see any boards with two M.2 sockets, especially since there are 4x lanes directly from the CPU that can be split between them as the sockets are only 2x.
Going to need a driver update for 5K, seeing as current drivers wont allow anything wider than 3840.
