In a state of flux...
A bit over priced in my mind ;)

I'm sure someone will buy it though.

Yeah there are better chips for less, but it is $300 off, and still an extreme. Someone may be interested. :D

that chip, although it is extreme, is very outdated. Cant a Q9650 outperform it at this point?

There are chips that can outperform it, but they do not have an unlocked multiplier. Just thought someone may be interested, didn't think it was the best deal, but it is $300 off retail.

Yes, even at stock, the Q9650 should outperform the X6800, and the Q9650 should overclock better to boot.

Damn!

Seems like just yesterday that I paid $1000+ for my X6800, but it was October '06. It's still running great. I have not pushed it over 3.45GHz -- that warms it up as hot as I care to take it, even with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro on it.

i want to see a x9800 or similar chip.

it would be like this...

unlocked multi
10x400 stock
6mb L2 would be apartent but im thinking more on the lines of 8-12mb L2.

for around $499 i think it would be hot.

Yes that would rock. However Intel does not want to make it that easy for us. ;)
