YouTube: Our humor, not our hack

Those of you who believed that YouTube was hacked yesterday evening were wrong - the webmasters played a joke on us all.

For those who missed it, YouTube, which hosts homemade videos, took down the site and posted a cryptic and grammatically incorrect place-holder message written in capital letters: "All your video are belong to us."

The inability to get on to the site and the poor grammar had some YouTube fans believing that the site had been hacked. At around 10:45 p.m. PT, an additional sentence appeared that let confused users in on the hoax. "No, we haven't been hacked. Get a sense of humor."

I think they wanted to be "hacked" to get some publicity... the realized their logo is a dead giveaway to the fact they did it themselves.... and layed it off as a joke...

First of all, what the hell is a HOSER - I don't think that a Canadian word, or even English for that matter???

Secondly, people don't just run a site for no reason... it's a source of income. to shut it down as a joke it stupid. Either they had problems and didn't want to admit it so they chocked it up as a joke, or they were looking for publicity (that they did well, I'll give that to them). But in NO WAY was it meant to be funny! How is that funny??? That's like shutting down the local harware store for a day and then reopening and saying "APRIL FOOLS" - no dumb ass, you are the fool, you just lost a day's worth of sales - there is NOTHING funny about that (although as I said, it is good publicity).
