iexplore.exe virus help

Hey guys, turned on my computer today and noticed IE is opening extremely slowly.

So I went to my task manager, went into processes and located the process for IE. There were two running:

1 at around 14k and the second at around 130-150k. Both called iexplore.exe

I've done a little searching and have found people with a similiar problem, it seems it could possibly be a trojan that re-names itself the same as the Ie.exe

I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this issue or point me in a good direction.

Run msconfig and see if it's starting up there. You might want to try aVast out too ( http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html ).

Any chance you can right click it in task managerand stop it ?.


What OS are you using ?.

I've had that ever since I installed IE7. I even get it now in Vista. From what I gathered it was part of the "restore if crash" feature.

grab the 30 day trial of kaspersky antivirus, it'll clear anything nasty up.

+1 , I use kaspersky its fantastic. The least resource hogging but best internet security i have ever used.
