New monitor for me for Christmas

I'm looking for a monitor, pretty sure I found the one I want:

It's the 22" Dell SP2208WFP. It has the webcam, but that's not something I care about. Mostly looking for a decent contrast ratio, something around 22", and 16:10 ratio at a good price.

I'm waiting because this monitor will probably go on sale for Christmas (also because the '09 series is replacing this). Also, I've got 10% off any monitor on Dell's website in addition to any promotion they're running. So when comparing costs, that's something to keep in mind.

My question: What would be better at a better price? I won't pay more. I won't pay less for something that offers less.

(Samsung on Dell's website). It's $249, then take off 10% ($25) => $225. It's a little better.

I'm pretty sure with discounts that Dell runs and my trusty little coupon, it'll be cheapest to go through Dell.

Any other suggestions for monitors that are good?

I rarely recommend this, but you should check ebay for one. Right now, with live.com cash back you get 25% off of everything. I just bought a q9550 for $200 shipped using it.

Any new monitor upgrade should be based on 1080p support, if it's a Samsung even better.

From what I've read in the past, make sure you read the reviews on the Dell monitors before you purchase them. I know that some of their previous monitors had issues when it came to displaying the right colors. This one seems to have pretty good reviews, but you might want to some reviws to be safe.

I want a 16:10, not a 16:9

I won't be using this for HD video viewing (that's what the TV is for). This is purely for working and some gaming.

Ok. What's the difference between these two monitors:

They're both 22" Samsungs. The only difference I could see is HDCP support. I'll only be using this with a computer via DVI. Thoughts?

Check out the samsung toc t220 it has 2 ms response time and a 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio i dont know how it compares in price i think i saw it at best buy for $280 so you can most likely find it cheaper online
