3dm06 kidding me?

Ok, I don't know what the hell is going on, but it is strange.
One or two days ago, my 3dm06 score was something above 11000 points.
Now today, I have overclocked my CPU some more (I think around 200MHz above the previous benchmark value, thanks to Xiggys S1283), and my score dropped to ~9200 points. So I raised the clocks on my GPU, but only a baerly noticeable increase.

What. Is. Going. On. :confused:

In that case, stupid question I know, but did you have it set at default 1280 with no AA/AF b4 you started? or did it default to your screen res of 16xx.

No stupid questions, sometimes the most obvious reasons cause problems :laugh:

But no, I leave everything at standard settings.

Could be possible that your overclock is actually unstable. That would lower your points score.

Well if your sure it's not that, and your sure it's not drivers then it can ONLY be that you either pushed the GPU or CPU too much and one of them got too warm and throttled back, reducing closk speeds.

Hmm i left GPUz open during 3dm, temps on GPU did not go over 51° C and the CPU is prime tested, also not over 50° C. So temps are not the cause here...

It's probablly the fact you left GPU-Z open. I find while running benchmarks GPU-Z interfere's with the performance of the video card.

Unclock it back to what it was before and see if your score goes up again...

Also have you tried restarting the pc? Are there any backround tasks going on, ie virus scan etc....

Made a restart, GPU to default clocks, no change... :banghead:

Check Task manager, see if there are any strange looking processes open and how much CPU they are taking.

I thought of that; but no strange programs here, and CPU idle takes 1-2% usage...

odd thought. Is AA or AF forced in CCC? I have left it from a game and benched and never thought about CCC settings but it will do similar to results!

No, I just played around with the clock settings, everything else in CCC is default... well, now everything is default settings.

check your Anti aliasing filter is "box" not edge detect & adaptive aa is performance and off. then change to standard settings, for some reason when i change to balanced it still leaves those options on for me so i have to change them, THEN change to balanced.

did you check your bios and make sure nothing is set to 'auto'?
sometimes an auto setting will clock down when other aspects are pushed to high

FSB, Vcore, NB and SB voltage as well as RAM voltage are manually set. Actually, NB and SB voltages were set to auto as I achieved those 11000 points, after fixing them, the poitns dropped... hmm that shouldn't be, should it? :wtf:
