ps3 worth the purchase?

I much prefer the gaming style of the Wii over the other consoles (sold my original 360 to buy one), however I do see the merits of each one, but the 360 actually doesn't have any really.

The Wii is more "fun" to play. The PS3 is a great media centre (spent more timing playing with Home, folding and watching DVDs/BR than anything else), but the 360 is JUST a games console, the media capabilities are lacklustre, but it does have a good games library, IMO better than the PS3.

I think in the end it will always come down to personal opinion.

I am looking to get Shaun White on the PS3 though

Hello!!! Windows Media extender on the xbox 360... The xbox 360 has tons of media capabilities. The only thing it doesn't have is blu-ray. Big deal blu-ray is most likely going to die out anyways.

PS3 has some good games coming out and if you are interested, then go ahead.

Bah, I've gotta leave Media Centre running, and as I've only got 1 PC capable of that and it's my father's I can't use that. Where as the PS3 uses Azureus, which I can leave running on ANY PC I own, including any of my servers (low-power, sat in the garage).

In terms of games consoles, I rate the 360 higher. In terms of media, I rate the PS3 higher.

I've always loved playstations, but this year for my son (and me) I had a choice ps3 £300 or xbox £129. Guess what won. Sorry but they are over twice as expensive and do not offer twice the benefit of an xbox unless you want blueray that bad (i don't), and until they come down in price alot, they aint getting my money

I have owned all the consoles at one point and I played the 360 the most, its got a ton of better games and most games that are on PS3 and 360 the 360 is WAY better. The PS3 I just gave to my dad because none of the games interest me and the graphics are total ASS. Wii I had for like a week before I sold it.. If you are gonna get a console go 360, its got the best games, best online play and the best graphics.

Complete crap compared to PS3's streaming abilities. I own both.

Ok here is a IQ comparison between the PC, XBox 360 and PS3. The games used are:
-Fallout 3
-Dead Space
-COD: WAW
-GTA IV


After looking at just a few games would you consider the PS3 as the gaming console you would buy at it's current asking price?

Yes I would. At least I don't have to pay to play online, and I get a Blu-Ray player. The console is worth every penny. Not to mention it fails a lot less often than the 360. I'll trade a few missing rocks in a game for that any day. I barely ever touch my 360 anymore.

The ps3 is just a much more enjoyable console for me, with more capabilities, and no fees for something that should be free.

I like my PS3 way better than my 360.

I have had the 360 until launch, and waited until the 40gb PS3 game out to buy in, and I use my PS3 far more often than my 360. And all of this 'games on both 360 and PS3, the 360 version is WAY better', is a bunch of bs. I have seen one, maybe to games where there is a difference, and when games come out on both I watch the comparison videos, and 98% of the time you cannot tell the difference.

You made it sound like it was a PS3 exclusive. I was just pointing out that it isnt.

Nah, that wouldn't draw the lines, you can't say ATI < NVIDIA because ATI cards can't do PhysX.

To be more specific, I'm sure the graphic quality of FF13 on PS3 will be better on Xbox 360.

Honestly I think they will be the very similar graphics wise. When you hook up both systems to the same tv via the same way with the same game there is really no difference. One may do shadows better and the other my do lighting better but in the end you can't really see a feature that just makes one system so much better than the other.
