Here's the deal I have an asus crosshair (first one out) with an amd 6000+cpu.
and a 8800gt gpu. so I decided It's time for an upgrade and therefore I -

decided after all the reviewing of gpu's that I would go with the GTX295.

the main question here is: will this set-up handle this kind of gpu (295)
or am I in need of a new mobo and cpu.

I think you will be fine. What kind of memory do you have and what is the speed of your CPU?

If you have a really high res monitor I don't think a new cpu would make much of a difference.
