Need Help - WD 2520GB drive shows as 20GB

In BIOS the WD 250GB SATA drive I just installed shows as
a 250GB drive but in Win XP it is showing as 19GB ???

Where are you looking in Windows to find that size?

Go into Disk Management and check the drive there. It is likely that only 20GB is partitioned and formatted. You can delete that partition and make a partition that takes up the whole drive, then format it with NTFS.

Are you its 19GB? Not 190GB or something?

Go to computer management under Administrive Tools in the Control Panel. Then click on disk management and take a screenie

My Computer / right click the drive icon / shows as 19GB

Also, I did a defrag and it shows as a 19GB

Look at the jumpers. Some drives have a jumper that limits their capacity to 20-30 GB so you can use them in older OSes like Windows 98 which cannot work with very big drives due to FAT32 limtations. Removing that jumper should fix it.

found the error ... HDClone FREE version only copies from drive to drive but the
paid version will also do drive to partition. It was cloning a 19GB drive so it only
would use the 19GB and leave (as unalocated) the rest of the 200 + GB of space.
